Myself and my own.
These conversations would be more sensible if they acknowledged how different various generations are and how their behaviors have shaped things. Boomers helped facilitate an environment in certain places in Africa that makes it hard for people to succeed outside of the usual roles and even then, that's far from guaranteed in many other places. If someone does succeed, he or she is left splitting much of their time and wealth carrying and caring for their parents in addition to their own families. This may seem noble but they are effectively put into a situation where they are forced to play it safe est they bring about the downfall of their entire family structure. All the hopes put on one person due to what is actually poor planning and in many ways self-serving behvaior by the parents. Ultimately you get a populace that is good at being worker bees and utterly stifled when it comes to innovation.

Interesting example of us, especially Nigerians, not being “ready”

Nigeria’s current President (he stole the election) probably was a drug kingpin in the 90s. His US assets were subject to a civil forfeiture that decade due to heroin dealing.

Nigeria election: The mystery of the altered results in disputed poll

The US government has refused to release records regarding his drug crimes:

Both he and Obi are on the same team. I heard Obi was in town recently for an event that was close to me. No shock obviously.

Nkrumah was right. only way forward is industrializing and cooperating in free trade with other African nations. there needs to be a way to weed out (read bombaye) the bad foreign and domestic actors in every African nation.
Exactly. Corruption and a lack of free trade and cooperation between African nations is the problem. Africa has the lowest internal trade when it comes to intra-continental trade blocks. Hell, it doesn't need to be a continental trading block at first but simple border trade agreements with your neighbours. An example - Ghana is bordered by 3 countries, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Togo. Set up trade agreements with them and never mind what's going on in other African polities. The 'Love Thy Neighbour' principle is based on the fact that your neighbour is going to be more influential in your affairs.

Africans also need to have faith in their own cultures and people, be it:
Domestic native crop production (Sorghum, Pearl Millet, Fonio, Cowpeas, Teff, Yams, Palm Oil Nuts/Fruits, etc)
Historical cultures (Yoruba, Igbo, Wolof, Bamileke, Kikuyu, Amhara, Ovambo, Sotho, Luba, etc)
Startups and loans

The last thing Africa and black/African people needs is some delusion of a Pan-African United Superstate because "We all black and all the same" BS. Never gonna happen and it cheapens the wonderful histories and cultures within Africa.

re the superstate - i don't mean in the common sense of one identity moreso a common goal of say a U.N - like military populated by continental africans with the security of the continent as its primary objective. that's how we'd keep those fake extremist who are often bankrolled by foreign entities from springing up and taking root in any african nation

The difference between a "pro-black" nikka and a white supremacist is very thin sometimes.

Ignore history and international economic/military policy brehs
