:yeshrug: devkits have options to use 4.5gigs of ram and 5.25 upon approval. And the 6 gig thing is a wishful thinking as apparently that was never an option...
In reality the flexible memory gives you an additional 512mb. Also it seems to show that jonathan blow was lying when he claimed to be using a full 5gigs of ram on witness. I think in reality, that these two systems are closer in ability than either side(fanboys) want to admit.

Numbers dont lie. I know in your mind you want to make it seem like looking at these numbers can equate to the same thing but Im sorry they do not. PS4 has a superior gpu and faster ram. This has never changed despite having 8 gigs or 4 gigs of gddr5. Why cant you just concede that ps4 is designed to be more powerful. Me personally, im not interested in the features of Kinect and i do not watch television, i watch the internet so for me these features are useless. I can only look at it in terms of which console has the potential for better looking games and that console is ps4. Do you though.

I think you have me confused as a fanboy. I have always said the ps4 was more powerful but in reality, specs don't tell the whole story. Truth is, just like I've been saying... The xb1 has a custom gpu. We don't know what it is. You post a rumored gpu but use your own logic and wait until you know before you spew it as fact. Because so far most of the xb1 rumors haven't been true. From the downclock to the upclock to the increase in ram to the yield issues. None of that stuff has been true yet. So I guess since I dont take rumor as fact then I'm a fanboy. I give the ps4 the same consideration and the thing there is, outside of beating ms in price, they haven't shown me anything that proves it's a better system. As far as im concerned they are one in the same. And to answer your question... No I dont care about kinect but I won't let that stop me from trying it out. :ld: if it turns out the xb1 is garbage then I'll admit that and move on. Same with ps4. Oh and yes I use my xbox for tv. It's currently my uverse reveiver and I use plenty of apps on the thing. I do the same on my ps3 as well(ate good of that sunday ticket). It's my primary blu-ray player plus I watch netflix on it daily. It's time to realize that these are much more than just game consoles.

6 is still not enough. What the fukk are they gonna do with the OS that it requires 2 GB? :why:

nikkas need to realize we just wanna play games on these systems.....fukk all this skpye shyt and the recording the last 15 minutes of gameplay......I don't give a fukk about that shyt......just gimme the best graphics possible.....fukk this other bullshyt

6gigs is plenty. Actually so is 4.5gigs but... Consoles are much more efficient than pcs on average and no game out now would max out the ps4 or xbox. It's mainly up to developers maximizing what they have available.

The true next-gen differentiators
What truly matters is how much more powerful than their predecessors these consoles are. Think about it. Even 4.5GB of memory dedicated to a single PS4 game is nearly nine times more than the PS3, with its RAM maxed out at 512MB, was capable of allocating. That's an incredibly meaningful leap, and one that should be no less influential to the next-gen gaming experience simply because it differs slightly from the competitor's nearly identically powerful black box.

Furthermore, it's simply time we resign ourselves to the realization that these consoles, from a hardware perspective, are almost completely in step. Of course, there are still very minute details that need to come to light before we can truly judge whether the PS4 is more technologically capable than the Xbox One, especially from a development standpoint, which will affect what games stay on certain platforms and which titles can truly live up to their potential.

But for all intents and purposes, these two consoles are now clearly approaching a similarity level that makes a vast majority of nitpicking arguments irrelevant outside the core issues, which should still reside in restrictions, privacy, and the obvious-but-not-often-emphasized matter of what games you will actually be playing.

So if graphics and memory usage are true selling points for you, then I'll say it again: This next-gen console war may not be the place to be hoisting up those priorities. Things like difference of memory usage and other hardware issues should by now be arguments solely for the PC market. And while the consoles now operate with innards that are very similar to those of top-shelf towers, the worth of these gaming gadgets no longer revolves around pointless spec details.

5 minutes automaticaly and you can start an indefinitely recording by saying "Xbox record" then you can use the upload studio to cut, edit, and share your videos

How does the share feature work for ps4:mjpls: can you make a longer recording? Can you edit the videos? How do you share them?

So with no technological advantage, no online structure or interface advantage, a worst OS with less features, and no good launch games, whats the point of getting a PS4 at launch again?

Kinect will make the price difference irrelevant once it's clear to mainstream America you get much more with the XWon

I don't know but I'd love that "infinite" recording thing.
I know with the Quad If I played a whole game I don't have to worry if I said record beforehand though.

get a pc than :umad:

you PC nerds are insufferable

how long is it gonna take to get it through your thick skulls that NO ONE makes games that maximize the extra power of PCs.....consoles are where the action is because that is where most people play.....the extra PC power makes the games looks nicer but doesn't fundamentally change the way games are made the way consoles do

plus I only play Madden and 2K.....the fukk I need a PC for

Last of Us was made with only 500MB, imagine what we got coming with 10 times that amount :umad:

imagine what it could do with 14x as much power?

the point is that instead of maxing out the system for gaming these two stupid companies are trying to make their consoles do all these non-gaming functions to attract the mainstream consumer.....fukk Microsoft and Sony :pacspit:

get back to gaming fakkits

I'm kinda biased... but I've had every Sony console... Not the hanhelds. I did have a PSP that I won though. I honestly just don't like early Sony. Its pretty terrible that Sony Dropped its best game on its way out. Or I guess that's good too. But at the end of the day if at some point the Ps4 is noticeably better... I'll be buying it. I'm upset its using less Ram than I thought. I'm upset Xbox family plan is gone. We don't have to take up for these companies if they are perfect. Infact complaining about them usually gets better results.

That's kinda dope that Digital Foundry updated the article to say up to 5gb... and that's plenty. But I'm sill waiting for them to update the article about the Esram 192 gb/s. We know they do it.... and they've had the time to do it.
