He Fatboi, can I ask you about Tiled Resources...
@satam55 @Jax @Rekkapryde @Liquid @All 3cepts

All the good people of this fine community would like is for you guys to comment on how Tiled Resources will play a factor if any. Please explain, you don't have to go into great detail, just say yes or no. And why

Yeah thats a trait passed down from your mother :snoop:

For anyone with any intellectual properties at all who wants to be knowledgeable enough to even speak on these types of subjects? Instead of coming off like some child who stans a console? Here's a deeper look into what I was talking about

Remember gamers who actually want to know whats good between the systems. Ask any PS-Fanboy about TILED RESOURCES and from top to bottom they will change the subject. Liquid to Rekka to Dexter to the others. Not a single one of them will touch the Tiled Resources debate. They don't want to have to acknowledge the Xbox has the clear advantage in every category. Nope :win:

Thank you all for playing :blessed:

Is this your way of talking around Tiled Resources by asking another question thus making the original question no longer even the topic
I promise to answer you once you attempt to answer me.........

Tiled resources is a marketing term for partially resident textures. Tiled resources is on dx11, so no ps4 tiled resources. BUT partially resident textures are a part of OpenGL , and supported on all of amds GCN (graphics core next) cards, which includes the ps4 and Xbox. So it's not a feature worth bragging about when both systems are capable of it .

Hmmmm..........Some quotes from NeoGAF on Tiled Resources:

You mean TiledResources?

AMD's GCN architecture has built-in hardware support for this feature so both PS4 and Xbox One will be great at it. On PC you need DX11.2 and Win8.1 to use it even if you're already using a GCN GPU.

What he said. The tech is called Sparse Textures:

AMD Sparse Textures

Here is a thread about this on OpenGL Forums:

Considering the Xbox has a version of the same GPU the PS4 has, this is not in any way an unique advantage. Tiled Resources are not an API feature solely found in DirectX.

danhese007;73419146 said:
PS4 supports it in hardware (AMD GPU), in fact if you listen to the audio recording from Develop 13 where Neil Brown a senior team leader at SCEE's R&D, talks about providing APIs for developers to take advantage of it.

Codeblew;73438151 said:
AMD created an OpenGL extension for tiled textures before MS copied it for DX. http://www.opengl.org/registry/specs/AMD/sparse_texture.txt. So PS4 has it as well.

So lets take a look at the reply of one of these fine gentleman who prefer the PS4. First off, lets give this guy a round of applause for being brave enough to even touch on this subject :whew:

Now, first I would like to say thank you for spreading the lie that was once uttered by another butthurt PSfanboy.
Tiled Resources is excluisve to Windows 8.1 and Xbox One. Its not something PS4 can do, this is fact. The creators of this tech are in the videos explaining this
He quotes the video, then goes on about how OpenGL can do something and its the same because Xbox One can't do stuff sony cant :sadbron:

Come on bruh, the respect you earned for trying to tackle this question is now lost because you changed to question to some bullshyt.
And how is it bullshyt? Ok, lets see the proof
I've already shown PROOF that its windows exclusive. Xbox One and Windows exclusive. NO debating this. You making up lies about how the PS4 will have similar? Right, lets see it....

The fanboy part of your mind is too small for any logical activity. I just said that tiled resources, microsofts implementation of Partially Resident Textures, also known as MegaTexturing, which was first developed by John carmack of I'd Software, was already implemented in OpenGL , and is not available on ps4 (while being called tiled resources)

But who gives a fukk. Partially resident textures are already Available as a part of OpenGL, and by extension, on AMD gpus with GCN. Which means the PS4 is capable.
Besides, the shyt is a advanced form of mipmapping, which has been available for over 10 years. Only xbots are in such a position that they have to find random gpu features that are available to EVERYBODY and try to say they have an advantage...when in fact everybody already fukked that ho.

Stop being a rabid fanboy and use the logic God gave to you.

so ram means nothing now.. make up yall damn minds
Combining conversations you had with other posters is why you are incapable currently of holding a conversation. The current conversation (with me) is for you guys to speak on how Tiled Resources will have an impact on games.

One guy says "Well, Open GL has something and so that makes Tiled Resources obsolete"
Guy two goes "Well, Here's what some people said on neogaf" :deadmanny:
Fatboi saw the train and went to sleep
Rekka knew it was time for him to leave as well
You wanna change the subject back to RAM like if more RAM is gonna make a difference. More than 512mb is a huge difference.
Having 4.5 vs 5.4gb of RAM isn't gonna make a difference in games.
Now how the systems make use of RAM will factor more than just spec numbers
Then other things like Tiled Resources will definitely have a huge factor. Would you like to further elaborate on how it will or will not make a difference?
Haven't seen a single post on that yet
