What do yall expect from these old heads. They're ex-athletes, the best of their time. Of course they're going to feel like today's product is trash, it's totally different from what they're used to. They attitude of believing they're better at all times is what helped drive them to greatness. I don't agree with him, but Im not mad at him either. I like seeing these old timers with a chip on their shoulder.
I think it's hard to compare eras. But a good shooter is a good shooter. And curry can create his own shot so he'd be successful even back then. Maybe not at the degree we see now but he can still shoot the ball. At the end of the day though the Warriors work because they're backcourt is probably the best collection of shooters as well as draymond, ai, Barnes. Even barbosa n speights can hit jumpers. Draymond, Livingston, Barbosa can all bring it up letting steph n klay aka Jon B get their Ray Allen on.

it's funny, growing up 3s were almost ignored so it never really mattered, but now that cats are hitting them routinely they've completely thrown the game off

Yeah I think that's the disconnect. When the 3 pt line came it was a transition from conventional get as close to the basket type offense where it's big man centered to where we are now. The hand checking def played a part too, similar to how offenses in football changed with how dbs can't touch wrs.
You see the progression in the 80s 90s too where you got spot up shooters then types like Miller who ran around to get open. Take Ray Allen in the 2000s, then ur influx of bigs who could shoot like dirk. Steady spreading the game out toward that 3 pt line.
Not saying a true center isn't valuable but a team like the warriors basically flip it where they play outside in vs conventional throw it to a big low and kick it out to a shooter. Their shooters and small lineups with their motion work the perimeters which allows for those easy 2s and lay ups that a center in the past would try to get. Just too many shooters, can't defend curry klay Barnes and ai from 3 pt line. Draymond running the point too can shoot.
