So my XM subscription ran out and I got a dose of what's gettin play on local radio stations nowadays and drive at 5 mix began with the R Kelly joint "cookie". As I paid close attention to the song and its lyrics I couldn't help but analyze the shyt.

The song cookie has a club/street/g-shyt beat and the lyrics ("I wanna lick the middle, beat the p*ssy til it's blue, my bed is your stage, hittin every spot on your map") are basically saying "bytch your only worth a good fukk"

I have several questions. Why do we tolerate this? Why is the "black ppl" radio station (hip hop/r&b) THE ONLY STATION that plays music so graphic, misogynistic and vulgar. You don't hear that shyt on the rock station. You don't hear that shyt on the country stations. NO OTHER RADIO STATION on the dial plays music like this but OURS. And we all know the KIDS in our communities are listenin to it too.

Ok then we need to be educating our youth and removing as many of those images from our households as possible. Its going to take a long, painstaking time, but it can be done if it happens on a grand scale.

You can't tell me our culture isn't playing a role in that.

So we front the millions of propaganda money to the radio, tv, and other communication systems? No, we don't. You think its US blasting Niki Minaj? We are paying her? We are paying for the reality shows to be circulated heavily across the oceans???? Really? Those are white supremacists and they are winning in regressing our community. I'm not saying self-responsibility is not a role in our community that needs to be rectified, but if you think those "numbers" you posted (I need to see a link for evidence) are like that based on our own doing, you are truly lost homie...you need to read the book "Race Issues" and stuff from Manning Marable and you will see the trends that lead to the "data" you posted.
