We're okay with a nikka spittin lyrics that are FICTION and allow him to ACT this way off stage as if the shyt he raps about is really him.

My point is most of us grown men can seperate the fiction from reality and just enjoy the ignorant music but THE KIDS in our community can't. 15 yr old lil nikkaz actually believe these clowns in rap songs and grow up with that mentality fed to them daily

I agree that the artist is to blame; But what is a dude supposed to do when he sees that crap all around him for years and is told by some white in a fancy suit that he will give him 6 or 7 figures to write a 2 and half minute song and turn it over to them? Alot of these dudes, like in the sports fields, come from poor or working class households, so that's the problem. They don;t turn down the money. And it becomes a degenerative cycle: you make the song, you perform the song, I'll front the money and circulate it as far and wide as possible; meanwhile, I'll show you the consumer-filled poison like cars, houses, and jewelry because that's all they show on tv, movies, etc. Only happy people have these things, so you wanna be happy? Then do as I say, and I'll make you happy. It fukking sucks, but its anew form of white oppression; they've done it to us since slavery, its just a new form.

And this is a bigger indictment on the lack of leadership in the Black family than anything(and you can make the counter argument that your point still remains...as parents grew up under the similar system) I benefited from having an older parents, who didn't grow up in the cycle of mental manipulation than most of my friends did. I grew up listening to "Doggystyle" era Snoop and Dre. Early Eightball and MJG, Gangsta NIP, Spice 1 etc...and parents definitely helped by telling me the things they said weren't things to actually aspire to be and do. HOWEVER even as a kid, I was intelligent enough to know better. I didn't grow up in the hood(But I'm black in Birmingham, go 5 miles in any direction you in the hood) I saw people deal drugs and seen how successful and popular that can make you. BUT I was still smart enough to know Fantasy from reality. Rappers was like comic book characters in my eyes...to quote "Eightball"
