according too lots of the books i'v read about entertainment, bio's doc's etc. It was almost normal for entertainers to be involved in some type of fukkery like that. Not condoning it but to single out R kelly is kind of gutless because for example, dudes in nsync/backstreet boys were in their 20's and their main fans were likw 10-12, not 15-20, like 10 brah. So who knows how guilty people like that are. All the old rock bands and shyt used to be involved with some crazy fukkery with really young girls. Think of all those 80's rock dudes and shyt. Probably doing coke and having sex with underage girls every day. Not caping for R kelly it's just lame he's some type of poster child for artists being a pedophile.

The first part of your post was cool but you took it to a bad realm...there is hope and optimism in reversing oppression, but it is a long, painstaking process; you shouldn;t give up on your life dude, you only got one life to live.

And this is a bigger indictment on the lack of leadership in the Black family than anything(and you can make the counter argument that your point still remains...as parents grew up under the similar system) I benefited from having an older parents, who didn't grow up in the cycle of mental manipulation than most of my friends did. I grew up listening to "Doggystyle" era Snoop and Dre. Early Eightball and MJG, Gangsta NIP, Spice 1 etc...and parents definitely helped by telling me the things they said weren't things to actually aspire to be and do. HOWEVER even as a kid, I was intelligent enough to know better. I didn't grow up in the hood(But I'm black in Birmingham, go 5 miles in any direction you in the hood) I saw people deal drugs and seen how successful and popular that can make you. BUT I was still smart enough to know Fantasy from reality. Rappers was like comic book characters in my eyes...to quote "Eightball"

I grew up in the same era wit the same damn music lol. My pops taught me the shyt I listened to (and idolize) was ALL BULshyt when it comes being a man in the real world. Of course I ignored him then (know it all teen) but as I grew older I realized the gems he was dropping on me.

My oldest boy is into several different music genres but my youngest is a hardcore hip hop fan so I pay close attention where his head at. Sometimes I have to literally tell him to put away the iPod and grab a book or somethin bcuz even though I've taught him how to seperate real life shyt from rap music bulshyt, he can still be subconsciously influenced by the music if he's spending hours and hours hearing "life ain nuthin but bytches and money". Then when you add puberty plus being highly impressionable anyway bcuz all kids are like that.

My sons are fortunate bcuz I'm there to smack them with the reality stick but a lot of these lil nikkaz out here ain got that and they live in that fantasy "fast cars, dope boy, bytches errwhere" world in there head....and WE as a community tolerate it.
