Wacky deserves it. He brought that BS argument that he brings to every Kast thread to this thread.

They didn't target an R&B audience. Again, you're singling out Kast again as usual. Puff had Biggie featured on remixes with Mary J. Blige and Jodeci all before his '94 debut dropped. Kast had ONE guest spot on a remix to a TLC song.

R&B singers from that era were singing over beats that would fit on rap albums. Rappers were rapping over beats that sounded like something you could throw Mary J. Blige on.

Now you're contradicting yourself. You're saying R&B and Hip Hop wasn't fused like that in that period but are crediting Puff/Bad Boy and LaFace with carving that lane into a Hip Hop staple.

"Player's Ball" topped the Rap charts too. It remained on the charts for 31 weeks:

OutKast Player's Ball Chart History
ARE YOU fukkING STUPID BRO? I DIDNT SAY THEY WERENT HIP HOP. WE SAID THEYRE “RNB INFLUENCED” and IN THE RNB LANE. SOMETHING YOU JUST SAID BIGGIE DID BUT YOUR DENYING OUTKAST DID... you just straight fukking admitted what i said was true. Again self sonning like when you posted the article saying outkast sood their double for ten bucks. At this point your labled a troll.

I said rnb/hip hop wasnt fused together and super populat UNTIL the 90s. Mary j over hip hop beats. Big over rnb beats. Outkast over rnb beats.

How is that a contradiction? Do you know what a contradiction even is? Cuz your use of it is fukking killing me.

Your in denial and obviously dumb. This is why i said i dont wanna talk to you cuz youre a stan with no sense of an objective opinion.

If iutkast isnt an rnb esque group WHY THE fukk are they on a shytload of rnb compilations? Why are they charting on RNB charts? Why are RNB SINGERS ALL OVER THEIR fukkING ALBUMS.

gotdamn dude what the fukk is wrong with you. Both BIG and KAST did rnb songs.

Difference is BIG had the what and gimme the loot, suicidal thoughts and everything else.

YOU JUST ADMITTED BIGGIE DID IT.. but KAST DIDNT? Jazzy belle isnt an rnb influenced track? Playaz ball? Elevators? Those are HARDCORE hip hop songs to you? Then your a gotdamn idiot.

Got damn dude you are thick. I didnt single out shyt. i said kast made rnb trAcks. YES A LOT OF OTHER HIP HOPPERS DIDNTOO... that DONT MEAN KAST DIDNT...

The fukk...

I said kast has 2 albums that are some of my favs but you said im a hater? Your are the biggest liar on here. You not representing reality. You are puting words in peoples mouths cause you THINK im DISSING your precious outkast when i already said they one of my FAVORITE ARTISTS. BUT I LIVE IN REALITY and i AINT gonna let you spew ya bullshyt on here. Sorry. Your full of shyt and cant have a logical discussion so im done here.

Go suck their dikks and get it over with jesus h christ

I really dont get why yall going at wacky like this.

I'm like the boogeyman to these dudes.

they think they can team up and assassinate my character, but when I get in my bag, they will eventually wave the white flag and resort to quietly dapping from the sideline, like the other twerps.

this fakkit @JustCKing was butt-hurt and ducking me in other threads for like 2 weeks before this jawn.
edit: I cant even call him a fakkit, cuz I think @JustCKing might be a female. I guess its a secret tho.

You don't know which BS argument I'm referring to (you make a lot of those). The only person reaching for anything is you. Your arms too short.

I'm having ONE argument with you actually.

so you know exactly what I'm talking about.

you just on that p*ssy chit again.

No you didn't dummy :dahell:

yes I did.

I guess I have to spoon-feed it to you.

YOU brought in the term LIKE THAT.
I'm saying that them not getting up-top play LIKE THAT isn't because of coastal bias. its because they were a mid-level act in the '90s. so unless you were from Georgia and saw them as heroes, or if you were from somewhere like stanback, Alabama or bucktosa, Oklahoma and felt like you were being represented on-screen, chances are they weren't getting play on that extra level.

anything else you didn't understand?

Whatever justcking is, its an idiot.

So biggie was in the rnb lane now but kast wasnt. Ok... more n more i keep noticing how dumb n tired these people are. I shoulda known better when i straight up told IT “im not talking to you” and IT responded to evey post I made so far.

I feel like im talking to someone with downs syndrome

They try and reapond with a smiley and take apart minor points i make as if that means my entire point is null. Idk how IT made it outta highschool. Ive never seen such an epic self sonning thread after thread as justcking

Why are you screaming?

Secondly, Where in the post does it state or imply that you said that they "weren't Hip Hop"?

I never said Kast wasn't R&B influenced. I said that sound was indicative of that era.

The contradiction was this:

Rnb and hiphop werent even fused like that in that period.

^^^ above statement conflicts with this:

It took puff/bad boy and laface to carve that lane into a hip hop staple.

^^^ So tell me, Puff Daddy was remixing Mary J. Blige songs and having her sing over Hip Hop breaks and throwing Biggie on the songs:

81OQ8CfI1eL._SY355_.jpg

^^^ no different than La Face slapping Kast on a TLC remix except it was just ONE remix and a guest spot on TLC's second album, which dropped after SPCM.

Then the kicker, you came with the claim that "Player's Ball" topped the R&B charts, which is bold faced LIE:

OutKast Player's Ball Chart History

^^^ peaked at #12.

Are you serious?

You know theres diff versions of the song right

Sounds like a rnb esque to me. Introduced on a rnb album. Charted on rnb charts.

How ISNT playaz ball rnb esque...

I'm talking about the version on the album.
The version they did a video for.
There are lots of rap songs that chart on the rnb charts. I read the reason for it at some point, but I dont' remember now. Billboard putting a song on a chart doesn't make it r&B though.

I never heard of the LaFace Christmas album until years later. Same thing with the TLC remix. My first introduction to Kast was that video. That video is not how you introduce or market an R&B/hip hop song. At all.

People were all over that song and Kast immediately after that out here in CA.

The version i posted was the original version and the one that made LA Reid greenlight they album. How you heard it makes no difference.. they were marketed as a rap group with rnb influence. That is the truth. Why people wanna take that as a diss idk

If people wan act like outkast is as hardcore as mobb deep they can but i think even you know thats bullshyt

^^^ Huge songs from '92-'94 with a heavy R&B influence and there's a lot of them that I could've posted. But Kast was the only artists that had an R&B influence in their sound.

Those r&b charts you keep referring to are actually called "hot hip hop/r&b" and pretty much every rapper ever has charted on them.

Where are these shytloads of r&b compilations?

How you heard it makes no difference.. they were marketed as a rap group with rnb influence.
IN what way?
I was 13-14 when all this was happening and I don't remember it that way at all.
How were they marketed as a rap group with R&B influence?

I don't think anyone is arguing they were as hardcore as Mobb Deep in the mid 90s. At this point the argument is were they viewed as a regular hip hop group? Or hip hop smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop feel appeal to it
