Safety regulations ain’t quite the same out in that part of the world
I remember I was in Bangkok and saw a story about two kids getting electrocuted from touching a metal lamp pole near a swimming pool. One reason it made the news at the time was because it was a Muslim kid and a Buddhist kid and the Buddhist kid got electrocuted first, the Muslim kid died trying to save his friend's life and pull him off. Since that incident those sorts of stories have caught my eye and I keep seeing news stories about people in Asia getting electrocuted from touching random shyt that shouldn't be electrified. Poles, gates, fans, etc. It has me shook to touch anything metal and wired up when I'm there.
