Oh ok, but just so we're clear.. Floydie went from 2.4 mill to 850k ppv buys in less than a year.. :jawalrus:

:damn: what happened?, thats a huge gap

Huge drop? 2.4mil to about 2.1mil worldwide ppv is what, a 13% decline? Factor in that floyd was breaking ppv records in the UK at 5am local time? Talk to me about how pac/hatton only drew 350k UK ppv compared to floyd/hatton hitting 1.2mil UK ppv - seeing as your claiming Pac was the bigger ppv star at the time :bryan:

Come on kid, doing nearly a million ppv's more than manny is nothing to sneeze at.

An impressive win against Rios in an action packed fight and then looking good in a win against another name opponent would be all it takes to get Pacquiao back in the conversation for a fight with Floyd especially if the Canelo fight features the risk averse overly defensive Floyd that mainstream fans do not find all that entertaining.

Nah, that ship has sailed. His camp made it perfectly clear they weren't interested in the fight when the timing was perfect to make it happen. All these statements you see now is simply a case of an over the hill fighter trying to salvage what he can now that his money's drying up and his career is on the decline.

How the might have fallen :wow:

I am not saying the fight will ever happen but depending on how Pac looks in his next two fights it will become a topic of discussion again.
I am pretty sure that if he were to somehow KO Rios spectacularly then it would start up again after that fight.

Nah breh, that ship sailed when Pac agreed to all testing and Floydie said he cant accept any less that 100% ppv rev(his definition of the lion share)

That might be true but given how naive and delusional some of his fans are (@Black Jesus) a win over any opponent would put him back on Floyds level in their minds. :skip:

Lets be clear- theyre on the same level. Its not about their win/loss columns, its about their stature in the sport. Theyre the top 2 of their generation and era. And whenever they fight it will be huge. And moreover, their individual performances against mutual opponents has no bearing on the potential outcome of their fight- styles make fights.

It wouldn't just be Pac's fans though...the general boxing public will restart the Floyd/Pac talk if Manny looks amazing against Rios.

The bytch could easily dead this and shut his haters up.. but he said he has to control 100% of the revenue in all his fights.. Manny could ko klitchko and it still wont change that fact

Stature in the sport is defined by wins/losses as well as how much PPV revenue a fighter generates. Floyd is leading by a large margin in both these categories so therefore no, they're not on the same level. A year ago you would've had a point but there's no question Pacs stock has taken a hit after his last 2 fights.

If he wins impressively it's more likely that the boxing public will want to see him get redemption against Marquez. If he manages to get past him then i could see another push for a Floyd/Pacquiao fight. Unfortunately by that time Floyd would probably be pushing 40 and there's no telling how much further Pac will have declined.

Like i said, too little too late from Team Pacquiao. They should've signed the contract a couple of years ago when the timing was perfect.. if only Manny wasn't afraid of needles despite being covered in tattoos.

:wow:

When the timing was perfect 2 years ago, Pac agreed to all testing while Floydie refused to co promte saying he has to control 100% revenue..

Also agreeing to get a tattoo =/= allowing someone to draw an unlimited amount of blood
