Cotto trained himself a lot more than people know throughout his career. Even for the Mosley fight, Evangelista was barely in camp except the last couple weeks. He'd have people there helping him, but Evangelista wasn't someone I'd call "Head Trainer" or In charge of camp like a trainer should be.

Cotto was already lined up to fight Pacquiao if he had beaten Clottey. Cotto stated just prior to them trying to make Pac vs Cotto 2 before Cotto ended up taking the Mayweather fight that he wasn't going to give up weight this time and that last time it wasn't the weight that lost him the fight (which he's said countless times). Cotto looked in damn good shape for that fight
