This is what happens when all you have to do is copy style and not substance. That's why there are no Kendrick, Wale, or Cole clones. They are super successful but it's a lot harder to duplicate skill.

I'm a huge Wale fan but Wale and Cole are just your pro-typical rappers with some backpack elements, how is their production or sound supposed to inspire clones? It's been done before for many years. Kendrick is different since his music has soul/jazz elements so i'd agree with you about him. It's a lot harder to copy his music and be successful.

But look at Drake and Kanye, their sounds have substance and they inspired generations. I think it would be foolish to say Party, Future and Thug don't have substance in their music
