Parents and hypothetical parents, would you homeschool your kids and let them learn through YouTube/online, and at least one hour of reading a day? 👀

I would use YouTube for mnemonic learning

Make them watch culturally relevant stuff that’s fun and engaging(Disney movies, regular movies, various tv shows) related to their syllabus and the culture we are in and then have them read. It puts pictures to the words they’re reading, so they can visualize the text instead of subvocalize it

That shyt helped me understand some things and I didn’t realize it until I was an adult trying to learn… the more symbols and cultural references you know, the easier it is to visualize and internalize concepts.. the tv shows and movies you watch a moving, talking anthromorphic concepts, no different from Egyptian hieroglyphs

But not straight homeschooling

nikka said let them learn through YouTube :mjlol:
Why’s that funny? Don’t you learn mostly from YouTube nowadays? Find out what the kid likes—non foolishness.

Give them a task, have them figure it out.

They like games, have them figure out how to make games :lupe:

Kids are very curious

half the ish i learn is through youtube, there is a lot of professional content on there. 2 of the companies i work for have youtube channels. the computer programs we use at work have youtube channels, etc.
i'd imagine the people saying "no" probably watch nothing but gossip and music videos or some ish lol.
so of course i would let them watch that for a portion.
the other parts would involve reading more than 1 hour
and then physical education.
