it's really not as simple as "your division sucks"
thats our point
If you are winning your division with 7, 8, 9 even 10 wins then yeah your division sucks.
Are you really trying to suggest that the NFC East or Central is on par with the NFC West?it's really not as simple as "your division sucks"

This will lead to more playoffs team, which mean extra games, which is something that the owners and Goodell have been pushing for. Mark it down, this will happen in the next couple years...if not next season. An 11 win team NOT making the playoffs will trigger it. They won't realign the playoffs they will just add additional more teams because it's more money.
From top to bottom, probably not.
But it's rather ridiculous to compare a division with another division by record if:
a) they didn't play each other during the year
b) they didn't play the exact same opponents during the year
that is why the game is played on the field
RivarlysIf the division winner doesn't make the playoffs, why bother having divisions?
The only argument I'd take is the not letting it affect seeding (i.e. if the Chiefs finished with the second best record on the afc behind the Broncos they get the two seed)

one of the greatest runs in football history negrosis
though I do "understand" your argument….I have no pity for a team that can't win their division AND can't a wild card berth
For scheduling. If nobody in your division can manage more wins than the 3rd place team in another division then clearly something is wrong with your division. Teams should be rewarded (make the playoffs) and punished (miss the playoffs) on their own merits and how they navigate the season not because of what random grouping of teams they happen to be in.
But, why should a good team be rewarded by guaranteed to play that terrible compression, then?
The whole concept of the playoffs is to reward the best regular season teams.
If you have a team that plays in a terrible division and wins the division while superior teams with a superior record misses the playoffs, that format is broken and you are not rewarding teams for their regular season records.

Arizona beat....You can keep rivalry games, but there is no reason for these artificial barriers anymore. Bad teams should not be rewarded with a home game because they won their division and legit strong teams like Arizona should not get screwed out for those teams.
