If winning the division doesn't necessarily make you more worthy and having the best record, especially by only like 1-2 games doesn't make you more worthy, then why not add controls such as, win your fukking division or have a good enough record for the wild card spot. :ohhh:

So you add a control that you acknowledge is irrelevant? :laff:

If you can win more games against NFL competition you have proven yourself, period.

its not one in the same, these are two separate conversations. We can have a debate on the way the game is played and rules, etc if you want too. But thats not what this convo is about.

The way the NFL used to be set up was to have two divisions, round robin against those teams, and then the winners goes to the championship game.
But they are, the way the game is played is based on arbitrary rules and scoring that people made up when they conceived the game, shortly after the SB was implemented, they conceived a way they wanted the playoffs to function and that is that. Again, what other logic you're seeking I don't know.

That's not parity...that's blatant stupidity. No way should teams with inferior records ever under any circumstances make the playoffs over teams with superior records. That shyt isn't cute or exciting...it's dumb.
Pats get home field advantage every year because of that shytty ass division of theirs :beli:
fukk outta here with superior records.

I agree, it's not logical at all. It's just based on an arbitrary split of teams which isn't logical in the first place.
az literally had a shot at each team they are fighting for their playoff spot. they got rolled the fukk up both times. they know how its setup. win your division, and if you cant do that, win enough games to get the wild card. beating the teams in your way of the wild card is a nice way to assure you get said wild card spot. as a seahawk fan am i gonna whine if carolina happens to get the 1 seed, even though seattle beat them at their house? of course not, because thats just the way the shyt shakes out. arizona used this system to host a playoff game vs a team with a better record the year they made their super bowl run. lets pull an urban meyer and whine about it a few years later when you dont get your way though :beli:

People can't seem to get beyond this strawman shyt. :snoop: I had just as much of an issue with the shyt NFC West teams were benefiting from the shyt as I do now that they are being penalized. The concept is dumb, not just the fact that the Cards will likely be screwed by it.

Just because teams know the set up doesn't make it right. There is something intrinsically wrong with any set-up that guarantees a team with an inferior record anything over a team with a superior record.

lol @ a sports concept adopted by virtually every sport on american soil being a strawman argument. so theres something wrong with literally all sports? college hoops small conference teams can go undefeated all season and lose one game at the wrong time and some buttcheeks team makes the tourney with a 12-28 record. mlb teams annually get left out for division winners with better records. ditto for nfl teams. an nba team in the west would have first round homecourt in the east this year and will be watching the first round after a round of golf. lemme guess though its all good in college hoops and the nba because "those teams dont have a shot to achieve anything" :beli: if you cant win your division, and cant beat out 2 other teams for a playoff spot (both of whom this team in question got rolled the fukk up by), who really gives a fukk about that team being left out in the cold?

So people are fine with, hypothetically, a 6-10 division winner making it over an 11 win team?

If it were college football and a 8 team playoff I'm not sure how many people would co-sign the American Athletic Conference winner getting an automatic bid over SEC/Big 12/Pac 12 teams

you are talking out your ass here. you talk about records, then talk about college football? you cant talk about better records deserving a shot then mention college football where they literally dont give a flying fukk about records. lets say northern illinois went unbeaten. youd rather see them in that playoff over a team like ohio st, stanford, baylor, oregon or ok state that would beat the fukking breaks off that shyt ass team? of course you wouldnt. you say you dont think anyone would want to see said northern illinois scenerio, then talk about the teams with the better records should get the shot :what:
