The Dem bill bans any semiautomatic gun with greater than 10 rd capacity.
Regarding the last sentence, I think it's pretty clear. Not trying to be overly melodramatic but we're not even 50 years removed from a time when racists/the KKK etc were openly and wantonly killing black people. And when you look at what is happening not only in this country, but worldwide - I truly believe there is going to be a resurgence of movements that openly advocate violence against non-whites. Now, some people, based on where they were born/raised or currently live, have a different experience/outlook on guns. If you're a lifelong NYer I completely understand how your perspective will be different. But my pops introduced me to guns at an early age and while I live in the big city now, I've lived in other parts of the country where I was exposed to the crazier category of white folks.
I think it's a great thing for black people, who are legally able to do so, to be gun owners. Think about how people jokingly made the comment that if every black man bought an AR15 tomorrow then gun control would be immediately passed. It's only partly in jest - but really think about that statement. Why do people believe it to be true? Why do we think that white politicians (and they're overwhelmingly white) that may never even think about passing a law that might "infringe" on the 2nd amendment, would think differently if black people bought guns at the same rate as rural whites?
