So are we now all to expect that he won’t be at mania next year? Or will he change his mind in January and try to get something going?

Does everyone that likes the rock still want him to show up or did this kinda ruin his good will with us. He did say they were going back to the Cody soul stuff? But cena won’t be here next year. Or should Cena separate himself from the rock and do his own thing?

the fans are definitely gonna be cheering him hard by the time december comes. huge "thank you cena" chants will start at 5 dates left, if not more.

you could in theory work at cody realizing he doesnt want to go through hell again to get the belt back and do a double turn in cena's last match to give him a wholesome babyface farewell

Do y’all think a part of the reason he is letting this out is that he’s not feeling Triple K booking? There was a reason why Paul left him and TKO out during his HOF speech. Maybe there is beef behind the scenes and Rock is lowkey sh1tting on him in a public platform.

Definitely a power struggle going on with these two. It’s the continuation of 30 years of inherited beef and it ended up with how it usually does: Triple H playing the long game only for The Rock to come out better for it. :mjlol:

Slow sales for EC & Mania, seems like booking plays a role in that kind of stuff along with prices.:jbhmm:

Even with The Rock's appearance at 'Elimination Chamber' I think the final attendance was about 37,000. The Skydome holds at least 65,000 for wrestling. I'm sure the prices on the tickets had something to do with it too but some of the booking wasn't hittin.

So in the storyline, Rock convinces the Cena, the guy that's been a face for 20+ years to turn heel and attack Cody, the current champ and biggest face in the company, leading to a main event match between the two at WrestleMania and it's too much for fans to get an explanation on how the Rock/Cena team up happened or any discussion of the union outside of a throwaway line?

The Rock didn't need to be involved in the match, IF, between EC and WM he make appearances or there's some discussion of why Cena made the turn, what Rock said to convince him, was that Rock's plan all along or was Cena the 2nd option when he couldn't convince Cody, etc. just basic storytelling shyt. When you end the PPV before WM with Rock, Cena, and Travis Scott standing over the champ whose ass they just beat and there's really no mention of him or any type of appearance, it may lead everyone to believe that he's going to show up at WM in some fashion.

I think Meltzer was right that Rock wanted Cody to turn heel, when that got shot down Rock went :manny: and bounced

he said he’s the one who suggested going for cody’s soul. then after brainstorming for a while creative suggested cena being the one to turn heel instead and said he loved that idea as well and told them to run with it. from there he didn’t feel he was needed as much anymore and thought cena could take it from there.

pat then asked why travis scott was involved and he said because travis said he was available and is a huge fan. also said he is actively training to wrestle.

Brainstorming?! :pachaha: he definitely got told to fukk off by Cody, HHH and some other players

He's right. It just would've ended up being a repeat of last year's WM build (even people wanting him to interfere at WM again). It's good that he removed himself. He didn't have a place in this feud.

Then he should not have inserted himself in the first place, the angle does not work without him.

They should’ve went with the Rock version honestly this version is trash and I’m a fan of them both. But cena saying he gonna ruin wrestling doesn’t make any sense they can just make a new belt lmao

It's one of those too grand to be believable movie villain plans, that you just know won't work

If the idea for Rock was Cody or nothing, then he shouldn't have been involved in the heel turn.

Cena turning heel sells itself, could've just pulled a Stone Cold but without the Vince Mcmahon part of the angle. I NEED to win the title Cody, NO MATTER WHAT

And the story was there, Cena is in his final year, he has not won a match in years, the desperation causes him to abandon his ideals, he doesn't feel Cody is worthy, he wants to recrate the PG era. The Rock was not needed at all.
