Healthy Heat stil lose to Lakers in 6 and possibly 5 because Jimmy was super aggressive and couldn't miss in two games.

Dragic is another scorer but he's not better than Murray or Dame and they
got sent home in 5.

Miami was the best defensive team Lakers faced and arguably best overall but Lakers had another level they could go to.

Miami got massacred in two games and
and was down double digits in game 2.

Lakers are better than Miami.

It's hilarious how the reception of the Warriors winning in 2015 is the EXACT opposite to the Lakers winning in 2020. All cats could talk about was how the Warriors title deserved an asterisk because Kyrie and Love were injured, and yet a similar scenario occurs with Dragic and Bam being injured and now it's...

To be fair, the bulk of their roster is young and they didn't get Crowder and Iggy until before All Star break.

But Miami played in the same environment that everybody else played in. :yeshrug: If anything it exposed some teams.

I'm curious to see how they proceed from here

Extremely small sample size but they were 2-6 on the road post-trade deadline. They just weren't a good team outside of Miami pre-COVID.

That doesn't change the fact that they were given the same circumstances in the bubble as everyone else and they delivered. But still, it's far from unreasonable to question whether they benefitted from playing in a neutral location with no crowd.

It's possible that if they keep the same core for this upcoming season and don't repeat the same success, that narrative might intensify :manny: But for now they played their asses off so you have to give credit where it's due

Come on fam, it is different. The Cavs were leading the series at one point and were seriously threatening the Warriors without their second and third best players. It's not unreasonable to assume the Cavs could have won that series if Lebron was healthy and Love and Kyrie played. Three out of the Lakers four wins against the Heat were non-competitive games. LA's point differential in that series was +6.4, which is basically a stomp. The Heat were overmatched and while Dragic and Bam would have helped, the talent disparity would just be too much to overcome. The Heat were able to have Bam play 4 games at 70-80%, if the Cavs were afforded that luxury with Kyrie I think the complexion of the series changes dramatically.

Ultimately, I agree that the asterisk talk is bogus though. Theoretically, you can attribute an asterisk to every ring of the last decade.

Bam and goran played in multiple games. Meanwhile in 2015 love played in 0 and kyrie only played in 1. Nice try tho
