Danny Green is fine in his lane, but the Lakers need a bigger defender to focus on 3s/4s. They don't even dream of having the assets to get Covington, best they can hope for is for KCP to step or or to acquire someone at the end of his career like Iggy or Ariza.

If LeBron is the 1A or 1B scorer AND the primary ballhandler and distributor then of course he shouldn't be guarding the best player on the other team too. At 35 years old, are you serious? This is why the Bulls used Ron Harper and Scottie Pippen as the defensive specialists to help MJ and the Lakers got Ariza and then Artest to help Kobe. At their absolute prime an offensive 1st option can be the key defender too (think Bron from '09-'14 or MJ up through his first run), but if you want them to have any legs at all in their mid-30s then you better have other folk handling those responsibilities.

They should fear him cuz he’s the second option to a player that’s superior to him.
Contenders shouldn’t fear him as a #1, especially when he was in Indiana which was more of a defensive juggernaut at their height. In OKC they never ran a system and had very little spacing.
