Last night was the first time you watched him play. George been doing this. PG passed Melo last year.

no. I watched him plenty during the playoffs. What I saw last night was different. He's taken his game to another level this year. I still think you guys really disrespect Melo. He's alot better player than people give him credit for.

Wait till he's in LA next year alongside Kobe. You'll appreciate him alot more then.

No he is not. I've watched Melo throughout his career and at no point was he ever a top 4 perimeter player. He doesn't have that kind of impact. Its laughable that you consider him a top 3 player. Is he fun to watch? For sure, but its a classic case of fans choosing style over substance. Look how long it took for you to even admit that Paul George is better. You overrate the hell out of Melo.

Melo peers all universally claim he's one of the toughest dudes in the league to defend. He took the Knicks to the #2 seed last year without much help and won the scoring title. I think there is more than enough substance with him. I just think he's gotten the raw deal for most of his career. He's never really been surrounded by much talent. Has he ever had a true #2 option? JR Smith and Allen Iverson don't count. Only year he ever had any decent teammates was 09 with the Nuggets and it took everything from Kobe to beat him in 6 games.

Melo is CRAZY underrated by media types and people like you that focus on fg% or assist numbers. He's an unselfish player and one of the true superstars in the game. You never hear Melo's peers diss his game.

They are overrated. That's why they receive hate. If you dudes weren't on here calling them the best, no one would be saying anything.

Kobe says Melo is the toughest dude in the league to guard and Rose got the most heart. They are only overrated to internet nerds who've never played ball. Real nikkas know the difference between dudes who can ball and who can't. Melo and Rose have been top 10 players in this league for most of their careers.

Melo does not play defense or facilitate to ever at any point in his career to be a top 5 player. He isn't efficient enough on offense.

There is more to the game than just scoring ability. If we went strictly by scoring averages Arenas at one point was a top 3 player. You also overrate Melo as a scorer. He has all these moves, but he isn't even that consistent of a scorer. He often struggles in the post season.

If 26/7/3 post-season averages is struggling then please tell me who isn't struggling in the playoffs? If your gonna bring up all the years losing in the first round, I ask when has Melo ever had home-court advantage in the playoffs where he's favored and then he choked? Maybe last year against the Pacers. But most people were picking the Pacers and knew the Knicks overachieved in the regular season.

Melo spent most of his career in the West with bad teams where he dragged them to the 7th or 8th seed only to be beaten by superior teams. LeBron has had the benefit of playing his entire career in the weak East getting to the ECF with Cleveland each year playing the likes of the Hawks and Wizards. Only year Melo had a halfway decent team and home court, he took the Nuggets to the WCF and were a ridiculous Kobe Bryant performance in games 1 and 3 away from possibly winning a title.

The only year he actually went deep in the playoffs he put up 27/6/4. That looks good to me.
