If 26/7/3 post-season averages is struggling then please tell me who isn't struggling in the playoffs? If your gonna bring up all the years losing in the first round, I ask when has Melo ever had home-court advantage in the playoffs where he's favored and then he choked? Maybe last year against the Pacers. But most people were picking the Pacers and knew the Knicks overachieved in the regular season.

Melo spent most of his career in the West with bad teams where he dragged them to the 7th or 8th seed only to be beaten by superior teams. LeBron has had the benefit of playing his entire career in the weak East getting to the ECF with Cleveland each year playing the likes of the Hawks and Wizards. Only year Melo had a halfway decent team and home court, he took the Nuggets to the WCF and were a ridiculous Kobe Bryant performance in games 1 and 3 away from possibly winning a title.

The only year he actually went deep in the playoffs he put up 27/6/4. That looks good to me.
On 41% shooting........

Even in that series vs the Lakers in the WCF Melo struggled mightily after the first game. Look at his FG% for the rest of that series.

game 2 - 41%
game 3 - 30%
game 4 - 18%
game 5 - 39%
game 6 - 35%

They don't hear you breh.

Let's not forget that the Knicks were underdogs the first 2 playoffs against Boston & Miami. The only series people picked the Knicks to actually win was last years series against Boston.

I still don't understand how people are saying that George is clear cut better than dude, but then I remembered that this is the Coli, and majority of the posters are prisoners of the moment, and rocking with Paul George is whats hot right now.

PG coming into his own now. I don't think he'll reach the consistent scoring heights of Melo but his defense and incerasing efficiency is hard to ignore.

Paul George was a star last year. He is now a superstar. What we saw last night is what he was lacking last season. That takeover ability wasn't there before this year. Part of it would have to be the confidence that he got from taking us to 7 games. He's fully arrived, which is why he is now a better player than Carmelo imo

FG% isn't the end all be all. You stat nerds are something else. Watch the games.

I remember watching that series and Melo scared the shyt outta me. He was a monster. Only Artest could guard him one on one. Anyone else we put on him he beasted. He was throwing Kobe aside like a rag doll when we had him guard Melo. We were lucky to have Artest that year cause he helped contain Melo, Durant, and Pierce. All 3 had sub-par shooting against us cause of Artest.

And since your in love with fg%, why ignore his fg% for that entire playoff run. He shot 45%. That is pretty good in the playoffs when your only playing good teams and there are no cupcakes.

Well you clearly didn't watch that series. Cause Artest wasn't even on the Lakers that year. :pachaha:

Carmelo was unstoppable in the first game, then he played like shyt for the rest of the series, but I'm suppose to take the word of a man who thought Artest was on the Lakers that year. yeah, okay buddy.

This nikka is trying to argue that being an efficient scorer isn't important?

So you'd rather take someone scoring 33 PPG on 41% over say 27 PPG ON 53%?

I'm :dead::dead::dead::dead::dead: at the irony of him saying "watch the games" while raving about a player who wasn't on the roster

Depends on the 3 pt percentage, free throw shooting, how they attack the defense, etc

Carmelo's TS% isn't that crazy tho

touche

I was thinking of 2010 and the work Artest did on Durant and Pierce. He did always play well against Melo as well.
