Them old heads wasn't taking no pay cuts to go fukk with Bron if he was still in Cleveland is my point. Beasley wouldn't even do that shyt.

Because they didn't even think LeBron was fully committed to being there. That was the concern. Nobody wanted to be stuck in Cleveland without LeBron.

When Bron was trying to recruit Bosh to Cleveland before he signed with Miami Bosh refused and said he didn't want to live there. After that Bron knew he couldn't get no help as long as he was there. All dem nikkas took a slight pay cut to play in Miami, wake me up when a nikka takes a pay cut to go to Minny :russ:

Are we talking about older heads /role players or are we talking about already established superstars? Where are you going with this? Bosh doesn't fit the description of either the old head or role player

LeBron /Bosh are both making $19.1 mil a year, Wade $18.7. It's not exactly a huge paycut they took, obviously a paycut from what their former teams were offering, but as a free agent, it's the option they had.

Now, in order for someone to take a paycut to sign with my team, there would have to be a good reason why. The day we're seeing role players (nevermind the superstars, this isn't the angle you wanna take with this) take paycuts to come here, there must be something really special that could go down as a result of it. The day that happens there (which may never be the case again, I hope I'm wrong), we'll see, but it's not something to worry about.

I'm saying do you think you'll ever see the day when a guy leaves millions on the table to sign with Minny? Like if another team offered a role player type of guy like Iggy 7 million more than Minny did do you think he'd refuse their offer and sign with y'all?

But why would they is what I'm asking. Why would Iggy or anyone do that for us? What's the point?

The team's not a title contender. It's impossible to answer that until they get to that point again. No one's gonna do it just cuz. But you'll be hard pressed to find people to do that just cuz anywhere. No one 's taking big paycuts to sign on crappy teams no matter where they are unless your options are few.

This debate just inspired my next thread.

They still had to overpay him.

Overpaid for what? David West was the leader of the team and arguably their most important player at several stretches in the playoffs. Plus he said before hand he wasnt leaving Indy anyway

Paul George is already a Top 5 defensive player and is about to be a regular all star on the verge of being a MVP candidate, our core is locked up for years, over paid for what again?

Stop acting like Indy is Bumfukk USA it's one of the biggest cities in the country and has leadership dedicated to winning right now, free agents would come but thats now how we built this squad

Who is the best unrestricted free agent y'all ever signed :russ:? I'm not the one acting like that, the free agents are. You know you're in a shytty NBA city when you can't name 8 cities that are worse.

Pacers don't actively target big name free agents, like most small market nba teams. Plus Thats not how Larry Bird has ever ran the team anyway. However At this point with the squad we have I'm sure we'd have no problem getting free agents if thats how management went about building the team
