I’m in my mid 30s. Don’t mind what people are saying, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

You should never limit yourself to who you date because as you said, it’s given you a broader perspective on what you want or will tolerate in a relationship.

I always joke that my fiancée is a Black Becky because she’s good the stereotypes of a white girl in a black woman’s body. And to be honest, I sued to think that same way when I was younger until I dated a higher echelon of black women.

They are out there, and I’m not just talking about the “educated” ones, because any bird can get a degree. I’m talking about the ones who have been raised right, not to be in competition with their man and actually appreciate us.

That being said, if for whatever reason it doesn’t work out with me and my lady… I might have to broaden my horizons

Exactly, what’s funny is that I don’t hear any men at my level or above (i know 2 millionaires personally, 1 is family, 1 is my homegirls cousin) and I never hear anybody say they don’t date black women.

I keep waiting to hear this but I don’t.

What it is, they don’t prioritize them, and they make them compete against other women, and other women get chosen.

That’s not the same as excluding black women from your dating pool.

Why does there have to be an explanation all the time? A lot of them are more attracted to white women. That’s it! They have access to an abundance of women who are willing to cooperate. They just find white women more attractive. Stop all the thinkpieces, and explanations. You like what you like.

People get with the people they are around for the most part.

Black women aren’t in the schools these athletes attend and once they hit the league they aren’t in the social settings these players are part of either.

That being said. The majority of athletes are still with people of their own race.

A question for the room.

As a black man we’re always taught the 1007 ways we can/should be better for black women.

Is it fair to say that there’s areas they need to improve in to be better for us?

I really think a lot of people are underrating or don’t want to admit it’s mainly physical attraction.

Preferences change as well over time. I used to not think White women were attractive at all and that’s very different today where I find all women equally attractive now.

Physical attraction is a large part of it. Whether that’s what their preference is because they grew up with it, got accustomed to it or whatever.

All these athletes, like Paul Pierce have all types of women going at them. Who they choose/settle with got more to do regarding their preference than anything else. They’re the ones choosing from a wide range.

I honestly don’t think it’s more complicated than that.

Something like “Goal: find a good white woman (because that’s who I’m into). -> Found. -> Let’s try this out. -> Marry her now?”

Sadly but honestly, Black women aren't as pleasant and feminine as they use to be. This wasn't an issue in the 70s and 80s. Black women of the pass were by far the most pleasant and classiest women in the world.

And therein lies the crux of dikk watching and the Dr Umar “black queens forever” trope. They think shaming brothers into limiting their dating pool will make it easier for them. But most brehs are waking up and giving into the shaming tactics.

Personally, I’ve almost exclusively dated black women but I’m not mad at brehs who date out. They look genuinely happy so why should they be under scrutiny, especially when they’re just minding their business?

If they’re not paying your bills, mortgage or car note, they can mind their business. Only losers with nothing going in their lives cares about strangers dating out. The whole “generational wealth” is a fallacy because we don’t even have an economic foundation.
