On some real shyt though...when I think of Pierce, I think of him doing the step-back.

He's probably the first player to use it that much...
...which isnt a good or bad thing.

Because like the videos have shown earlier in this thread...Jordan (and Bird) used the step-back in their arsenal...
...but that may also prove why they are better than players like Pierce...that step-back was one of the many moves Jordan had.

He didnt pioneer the step back plenty of guys were doing it before him but i will give him this he was the first guy to do step back 3s as a go to move. Everyone else was doing mid range step backs. I think that's what hes referring to when he talks about harden and lukas step back 3s.

Up until Pierce a step back 3 was considered the worst shot in basketball. Only time you really saw it was late in shot clocks on broken plays.

ESPN has to be loving this. An outspoken voice that can generate engagement has been the biggest thing missing from their NBA show imo. If they can turn people reacting to Paul into people watching to see what Paul says next, bravo to them and to Paul.

That said, PP does come across very insecure about his legacy. He was a great player. I don’t think anyone forgot. But he’s never gonna be remembered on the level he wants to be seen at. Arguing otherwise won’t change that. Sorry.
