To park that car in NYC would cost you a couple hundred a month too lol. Plus the tolls, so maybe a few hundred more.

Best city in the world folks:francis:

Definitely one of the Babylon capitals of the this country,if not thee capital. L.A is right up there, its just up to if you hate extreme capitalism or extreme sexual deviancy more:respect:

1. Queens and Brooklyn are on Long Island, they're just part of the city instead of being the suburbs.

2. If she's taking LIRR instead of the regular trains, she's likely very close to the suburbs already. Might be time to look for a job closer to home.

It's been known that the LIRR are the highest paid railroaders in the country. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised it reflects in the ticket prices.

I dunno what a monthly parking costs, but parking at Newark Penn cost ~25 dollars a day by itself. Path both ways is 6 total. So ~$31 a day for me to get to work during the winter. But I don't think Monthly makes sense because I can be in the office 3-4 days a week.

During warmer days, I take the 21 bus. Its only 5 dollars total, both ways. Saves me 20 dollars, lol. I gotta be on point with waking up though. And one bus broke down in the middle of East Orange when it was like 20 degrees outside. Never again during winter, never again, lol

If it's of any use to you, Orange to NY Penn is $7.95 one-way.

I mean people pay that in gas and tolls (on top of car notes and insurance). Remote/hybrid work should’ve been permanent, but these old heads want to get their money’s worth for the leases they’re paying for and politicians want you going in to work to “stimulate the economy”
We were doing 10 days per month in the office.....any days you want. So we could knock them all out consecutively if we wanted. However, they made a recent change in July and now we are required to do 3 days in-office per week.

This is the result of some employees from another branch location blowing up the spot. They were swiping their badges at the office and going back home to finish their shifts. Of course they came down on everybody.

This was just the excuse the company needed to get us in the office more frequently.

Nope, 99% certain she lives in Queens. Makes sense to use the LIRR because she's likely in an area where she gotta take the bus to the subway. $7.25 is the city peak ticket (LIRR within Atlantic/NYC- Penn Station/Grand Central to/from Queens or BK) which is actually a discount. She's complaining about the fares because she's not smart. The monthly pass is $207. If you take 40 trips/m, it makes sense to just get a monthly pass and not pay per trip which will almost always be more expensive. 207/40= $5.17.

She's clout chasing while not doing basic math which is diabolical.

I agree with you. But how do we close the missing commercial property tax revenue? Chicago homeowners are getting hammered because Chicago lost so much commercial property tax revenue. You can tax the rich, but they can also leave.
