no way out meant what it meant. I dont think it's a perfect album or even a great one. But it meant what it meant when it dropped. Puffy and bad boy ran 97' on a commercial level..

a classic is supposed to be better than a great album.

yet, you don't even think "no way out" is great but you call it a classic anyway because it ran the radio?

i think the reason pac gets ranked above those cats is cuz he released a lot of material but died still being in his prime, which is not to downplay any of it, thats quite natural, legends are made like that in music all the time , but based on the impact of those five years i do think he would have been ranked favorably regardless, as high? would have to see what he would have done in the following years to know that
I think pac had at least 1 classic left. maybe his best album.
but yea, he does benefit from dying when he did.
The only song I might be inclined to skip on disc 2 is Thug Passion.I never really cared for that song.
But I also think it's some underrated bangers on that disc, to.
Heaven Ain't Hard To Find is nuts IMO.He spit so much game on that track , it's ridiculous.
Wonder Why They Call You bytch is one of the most scolding songs about females ever.
I've seen females melt like the wicked witch listening to that track.straight up have em:lupe::sadbron:

thug passion is the chit.
makes me want to eat some pu$$y. yea I said it.

only a great song could evoke such a feeling. plus it samples the goat beat.

Pac stans gotta be the most ignorant nikkas on this site. nikkas called LL and BDK "bums". nikkas said Pac had 4 back to back to back to back classics.

Talking about 2Pacalypse Now and Strictly 4 My nikkaz are classics :lolbron:

Honestly, Pac is ahead of them his legacy is just too powerful

nikka you're going by source magazine standards,i'm going off logic. Now way out ran the radio and but not in a force fed payola (but people arent really taking to it) type way. nikkas really was bumpin can't hold me down, been around the world, victory ,i'll be missing you,all about the benjamins's etc. They are bonafide classic songs. They are songs that mark that time in hiphop history. There are alot of songs and albums I like, that might not have had popularity at radio or on a street level, meaning I liked them but knew little to know one else that felt the same. I DONT CALL THOSE CLASSICS. I call those "songs and/or albums i like". THE REASON i do this is because opinions are subjective. So I try to look at it from a democratic perspective (what was the impact soundscan, how much was i actually hearing people play and discuss this music, despite the sales.how much did this music mean YEARS LATER) as well as my personal opinion of the music. No way out is not considered great because it was only the singles that had that popularity, similar to Fugees THA Score. Where as albums like AEOM,The chronic,matw,rtd,lad,GRODT,BP1,doggystyle,bigger and deffer,e1999 eternal, stillmatic, straight outta compton, way 2 fonky, murder was the case soundtrack,400 degreez, ghetto d ETC posses famous album cuts along with singles

SOME of these albums i named might be greater or lasser than others i named due to the fact they have x amount of % of songs i dont care for. But all are classics

He said Thug Life, Me Against The World, AEOM, and Makaveli.

I think Thug Life is arguable, but the last 3 are bonafide/undeniable classics.

It took him 14 days to record AEOM and only 3 days to do Makaveli.

That's 2 classic albums in 17 days time.

I don't think that's ever been done in any genre....one being a double album on top of that.

He was just a prolific song writer.Lets call it what it is:manny:

None of that lil wayne hosh posh gibber jabber.....timeless, coherent classics in 17 days time

i'm gon keep it real,NO FILLER on aeom. Not saying every song on there is the greatest song ever, but to me there are no "this shyt is wack" songs on that album.

I can agree with that.Like I said in a post earlier "I MIGHT be inclined to skip Thug Passion" but that don't mean that it's wack.

That's the thing about AEOM, even the songs that you might skip, end up being the next nikkas favorite song on the album......or even their favorite song, period:wow:

Let me help you with the thuglife status/. Is it a classic on a commercial level,NAW IT'S NOT. On a street level it's undisputed.

Thug Life - Volume 1 (1994) BUY NOW!
ir

TrackLyrics
1Bury Me a G
2Don't Get it Twisted
3shyt Don't Stop
4Pour Out a Little Liquor
5Stay True
6How Long Will They Mourn Me?
7Under Pressure
8Street Fame
9Cradle to the Grave
10Str8 Ballin'
Look at these songs, think about how much they're referenced. nikkas naming their movies after shyt. nikkas still saying how long wil they mourn me,bury me a G etc now think about how dope every song feat pac is on this album

Believe me, I understand where you're coming from.I think it's a urban sandlot classic, but it's not urban sandlot/mainstream classic like AEOM,MAW, AND Makaveli.

Thug Life is only arguable because it's missing that mainstream appeal

How is Thug Life arguable, it's my favorite 2Pac album but it isn't classic. It's only a gold selling album in 20 years, it wasn't even critically acclaimed, not even a top 5 album in '94.
