The Keystone State
While driving through one of those states I straight up had a random white person walk up to me and tell me I am the first black person they've ever seen in their life. A completely random encounter in their capital city, a place I would assume has the most black people in their state.:ohhh:

Till this day I have no idea why he felt the need to announce this information to me.. I didn't sense any animosity from the guy, just ignorance and curiosity. Very similar to when somebody first takes a trip to the airport and sees a 747 up close.

A girl i went to nursing school with had never met a black person her entire time of growing up in Wyoming.

I’m surprised Maryland ain’t top five, it’s lowkey a Black ass state.
Nah, I been out rural Maryland lately for work and I thought I was deep out VA for a sec. MD always has a way of being slightly bigger than I imagine despite being a native. There’s so many cities in MD that are just bizarre-sounding. :mjlol:

Yet have every opinion of us. I'm convinced that less Black people a white person grew up with, the more overtly racist they are.
That's a fact. All of their information about black people will come from the local news and conservative news outlets. Even outside of that we are usually shown in a negative light

Cali is number 5 by population.

Yall act like we ain’t out here.
Its the ratio that does it. California is the most populated state and depending on the area you are in you will not see many black people.
If I'm in Cali I'll see a lot more black people in Inglewood than I would in San Luis Obispo.

It’s also one of the smallest states geographically so no shyt, while it has a higher percentage it just doesn’t have the same population as other states

I thought VA was higher but other than that sounds about right
California's black population is relatively small yet has a massive impact on American culture and consciousness
Raw total number and the resources/opportunity in California is designed to produce impact.

A lot of those nikkas in Atlanta are originally from Chicago. It is amazing how many Black people Chicago has lost, but they still have over a million and a half Black people.

Yea it said from 2010-2020 the Chicago Metro lost 4.19% black folk and Atlanta Metro gained 22.03%. Houston gained 23.93% and DFW gained 26.94% over that decade. Charlotte had a damn near 40% increase. Minneapolis, Columbus, Vegas and Indianapolis had pretty big % jumps too.
