I'm pretty sure the CDC would gladly be willing to compensate a cruise someone had planned instead of possibly exposing thousands of people to a pandemic.

The talking point that has been underlying all of this is what has been mentioned over the past several posts: Personal accountability.

Where does it begin and in a situation such as this?

Should someone essentially throw away a stack (high estimation, cruises come cheap these days. Wouldn't be surprised if that cruise cost $300, tops) to not even risk exposing others?

Should a woman halt her wedding plans when she has an elevated temp., following the treatment of an infected patient?

And let me add on to this-There should have only been CERTAIN people authorized to deal with his care, and they also should never have been able to leave the hospital to spread it in the local area when not working. They could have been giving a room at the hospital to live in until after the quarantine timeframe.
