It's Almost Dry isn't all Pharrell either. Kanye did 5 of the 12 songs on that album. Pharrell has Hell Hath No Fury from nearly 20 years ago.

NOTHING suggests they would have superior quality if they had inlimited access to Nas. Those tracks on Lost Tapes 2 are not better than what Hit Boy has done with Nas. Pharrell's track record with Nas is on par with Swizz.
Fair enough, but it was at least the majority.

And my overall point was that someone who organically matches with the artist would produce a better album. So Pharrell naturally meshes with pusha, but he wouldn’t be the match for Nas. Preemo or Pete rock or alchemist would be…and someone like j dilla or Madlib are universal. Hit boy has done well bc he’s the last person I’d expect to do Nas collbas , but some of the pitfalls you’d expect absolutely show up.

Pete Rock has been a cringy and crusty ass dude on social media for years and this isn't surprising.

That said, at his absolute very best, Hit Boy has never created anything like The Main Ingredient or Soul Survivor. He has no instant classic beat like TROY or World Is Yours. The notion that Hit Boy is somehow better than him, is wild.

Nas music is always extremely divisive, and I like what Hit and him have done. Let's just not get crazy here...

This here.

Pete is Pete, and personally I don’t even like dude, lol. But I respect his work and what he's done for Hip Hop since the late 80's. And he's still one of the greatest and one of my favorite producers of all-time. Nas has been one of my favorite rappers since the early 90's, and he still is, but if he drops something that ain't hitting like his other sh*t, as a true fan, I'm gonna say. And that's just what being a fan of the music is. And it's not even about Nas, it's about Hit-Boy, who I've known since like '09. My opinion of his beats has been the same for 14 years, lol.

But these fake Nas stans will try to demonize anyone who doesn't worship Nas the way they do. That's not even being a true fan, that's some other weirdo sh*t. It's almost like they believe the worship is a form of validation. Sh*t is goofy as f*ck. Hit-Boy is better than Pete Rock overnight now because he's running with Nas? This type of disrespect for legends and the dishonest praise for average sh*t is literally why the quality in music is so sh*tty now. Nas could've made 5-6 albums in a row with some random dude who used to produce for New Kids on the Block, and these weirdos would be on here acting like he was better than Pete and other legends too. LOL!! Sh*t is wild.

I still think there is a reason why there isn't a Premo produced Nas album. They were in the studio a lot for Hip Hop Is Dead, but I'm not sure how much was done because Nas said they ended up kicking it vs working on music. Pete Rock and Nas meshing in the studio for an album isn't likely especially now. A Nas album runs the gamut of styles from music to the subject matter. I don't know if Pete or Premo are versatile enough for an entire Nas album. Same with Alchemist.

Dilla and Madlib would be good choices because Nas seems to like producers that could take him anywhere musically.

:mjtf:It Was Written tho?

:mjtf:Stillmatic tho?

:mjtf:Lost Tapes tho?

:mjtf:Life is Good tho?

:mjtf:KD 1-3 AND Magic?

Man listen, even if you don’t think his new shyt is hot, (which is cool, whatever) saying he ain’t have an album full of dope beats/music since his debut is just wildly inaccurate. Y’all putting him on Snoop Dogg status. Nas has made plenty of classic albums since then. SOME would argue it’s not even better than It Was Written. You don’t get mentioned in the GOAT artist or even GOAT album conversation with only having one good album. The only people who get that luxury are those who left us too soon.

Speaking of, was just playing this earlier,

:stopitslime:I guess this was a trash beat too right? Clowns. Never even heard this argument until Vladtv said it.

hitboy’s beats suck

but nas shouldn’t be working with pete rock or premo

he should be working with knxwledge, madlib, or even alc

alot of them bandcamp/stones throw beat scene nikkas beats were tailor made for a nikka like nas

hitboy’s beats are soulless and predictable

Say what you want about Hit Boy, but he did the following with Nas:

- two dope Charlie Wilson collabos

- a dope Firm reunion that featured Dr. Dre giving Hit Boy the co-sign as one of his favorite producers

- a classic collaboration with a reclusive Lauryn Hill where she's spitting

- song featuring EPMD and Eminem (I only like Nas's verse though)

- collaborations with Anderson Paak, Big Sean, Don Toliver, and 50 Cent to varying degrees of quality

What was the last Pete Rock produced banger? Please post it?

Dude hasn’t had heat in a minute.
He's got a bunch of full albums with all dope beats he's put out recently. Just because you aren't checking for it doesn't mean he doesn't have heat.
Why do you guys make up shyt when you don't actually know? Super weird behavior constantly happening on this board.

And on and on and on and on. Pete Rock never fell off.
