Report: Brandon Lloyd to part ways with Patriots - NFL.com

Brandon Lloyd was reportedly willing to take a pay cut to stay in New England. Apparently, it won't matter.

The Boston Herald reports that the Patriots will release Lloyd after only one season with the team. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com writes that it's possible Lloyd will return at a lesser salary. Lloyd was due a $3 million roster bonus after a season in which Lloyd caught 74 passes for 911 yards and four touchdowns, but it was clear he wasn't going to get that bonus.

Lloyd didn't provide the vertical threat that the Patriots were hoping for, and there were reports that his erratic behavior was not a great fit in the locker room.

I wouldnt mind if my squad signed Lloyd to a cheap one year deal but after hearing that he wasnt a good locker room guy I know its not gonna happen

In the sense that every player on a team isn't on the field at all times, then sure. But those guys all excel at their roles. Amendola would start at slot most teams in the league. Vereen is one the best catching RBs in the league. Edelman isn't even signed. Washington is a KR.

But that's not the issue, the issue was you acting like they aren't there to complement Hernandez and Gronk. It's not about who they are, it's about the roles they have and all those guys are great in their roles relative to their talent.
