I mean… :yeshrug:

What’s wrong with the logic
It’s logical, but It’s not based in reality. People rarely buy and support things because it’s the “best.” People make up dumb reasons to support (or not support) so many things… and one of the most prevalent reasons to not support things has been racism. Be the best all you want but do you think that alone is gonna get you that lucrative contract or a respectable interest rate or top tier product placement? Ok buddy, you better start building relationships cause being the best only gets you so far, unless you’re talking about sports, which is the closest thing to a true meritocracy.

If you watch the video. He's very on point

I watched the video before I responded and I disagree

I kind of assume that people striving for success are working hard and not expecting to get it because they're Black. But hard work alone for Black people has literally been proven to still run up against racism

so when he says shyt like he doesn't like politics, its all divisive, and don't worry about DEI or being black just worry about being the best, I really don't understand who the fukk he's talking to.

Would make more sense to say that people should be ready to pivot or create their own avenues for success if they're sure they've become the best.

instead he's perpetuating the idea that if you're the best you can overcome racism, which is meritocratic nonsense that does not apply to our people. In fact, it's been used against our people: like when they hold up Asians as model minorities that overcame racism in order to use them against us

The Deep State
Please look at the evidence:

Almost every 7/11 store in the hood is owned by Asians or Arabs.

The black hair market is cornered by Asians.

In Cali, Texas, Florida and other states, you’ll struggle to get even an interview for most jobs unless you’re bilingual.

Is all of this by design or is it because black people just don’t work hard enough? I guess we should ignore redlining, freeways being built directly by black businesses, gentrification, blockbusting etc.

All of that is just a thing of a past. I can’t believe so many of y’all are being so obtuse.

Like Chris Rock said, true equality is when a black President as equally as stupid as George Bush can be elected. Obama had to be perfect. Trump just had to be white and racist.
asians own the infrastructure of hair stores because black people are too insecure about their own hair products and image…so either we fix that…or...

Again, the poverty of vision.

Why are we talking about getting jobs from white people?
Appealing to them?
Making room for them, when we don't make room for ourselves?

Why are others even in our minds?

Build your own and get everyone's money.
Build your own and decide who you hire.
Build your own and decide what the rules are, and what is best.

If that means we have to get to the very basic laws of physics level - where we have to dig the stuff out of the ground ourselves to make computer chips and jet airplanes, so be it. In fact that would be a good thing, the ability to do for self, to organize our people to do so.

The ability to make our own tools, from our own resources and distribute to our own people and those that agree with us

1 billion plus Black people on the planet - we should be able to imagine a world that doesn't depend on what everyone thinks of us.

It's somewhat working for China.

Can we take that "do for self" mindset and make something? Do better than what they have done?
Center what we want?

Is that so difficult?
Is that a hard thing to envision?

He didn’t say they were

I’m also a competitive dude too, so he ain’t saying shyt to me :yeshrug:

Finished on top of damn near every class I went to and applied myself in. I just agree with being the best or at least striving to be the best at what you can control

I was also taught that because I’m black I need to be the best or close to it. I guess it wasn’t a common teaching
This is what it boils down to. Any opportunity to pump your chest, even if it comes at the expense of overlooking the world we live in.

Donald Trump is the president. Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. America is being run by clowns. Being the best so that they're too frightened to say no is a pipe dream. We're seeing that they would happily run the country into the ground if meant being able to deny Black people an opportunity.

We're at a point where what's needed is more solidarity and corroboration. So when someone who has spent too much time around white executives start preaching that picking a side is what creates division, we shouldn't be focused on diversity, nonsense, I'm going to see it rightfully see it as soft-c00ning.

bruh working for Louis Vuitton and thinks he’s good :mjpls:

Black folk make a little bread and start saying dumb shyt like, "people don't see race at the top, they only see green", only to realize later, those people do see race and are hellbent on keeping them out of certain elite positions.

I used to operate under the, "work 2x harder to be seen as being just as good as the white folk" mindset. Broke off from that thought process a decade ago, and took up a similar mindset as your post.

Pump my chest when it was literally the last thing I said :mjlol:

TF you mad for? And why would he even say it if he was overlooking the world yall live in?

it’s based on the reality of when you are the best there is only so long you can be denied :yeshrug: especially on some racist shyt.

But I knew nikkas we’re going to want to argue. Just looking for anything to be mad about, when nothing he said was even worth it. I should just say that we need to strive for being mediocre then?:yeshrug:
