I don't know one person ever even during the Vol era to now that ever said "Yo I can't wait til hear that Jay-Z and Pharrell Collab"

To be fair Jay never worked with Neptunes until
Dynasty, but this is true. I feel like people enjoyed Jay and Pharrell but never anticipated their work like that. I remember cats being mad disappointed after the build up to The Black Album when Change Clothes ended up being the single. All the hype towards this big (and rumored to be darker and somber sounding album) with what sounded like a Blueprint 2 joint as the single.

Allure was dope as fukk though and still my favorite collab between the two of them.

The actual track is like a parody. I’m all for positivity but it’s time someone told Pharrell he can’t sing. That falsetto is trash and imma keep it a buck: he was trash on those Daft Punk songs too. Every time I hear Get Lucky i get mad thinking how much better it would be if Prince did that.

Hov verse is cool.
