that's more impressive than primo making group home sound good.

at their best, timbo was better. timbo was also better across an entire album than pharrell (neptunes are always good for 1-3 beats when they do an entire album... especially when chad and p's sound was more repetitive early on). timbo had a rza-like run where every time someone dropped an album with him on the boards you had to hear what it sounded like. even if it was magoo's wack ass rhyming like he just learned his ABC's.

pharrell has to get the nod for consistency tho. at one point timbo was dead in the water until he found danja and got his swag back.

i'll take timbo tho. fukk it.

Both great, and both done great things and fallen off somewhat. I would probably say P has more versatility in his gam, maybe edges T in the catalogue.

However For me, if I was a rapper and had a choice of only using 1 of the two, I would go for T.

Timbaland by a landslide. If you'd say Timbaland vs. The Neptunes, then this would be much more difficult. Timbaland solo did more than Pharrell solo:

Exactly.

It's like people forget that The Neptunes was more than just Pharrell. It's like people pretend Chad was some understudy or co-producer that Pharrell discovered. They came in the game together and Pharrell's best music was when him and Chad were The Neptunes. Pharrell by himself is dope, but nowhere near the quality of The Neptunes.
