This season from hell is probably the best thing for the Knicks' long-term future. They'll get a high draft pick they would never get if they were a middle of the pack team, and will have 40+ mill to sign new guys around Melo in the summer. Amare and Bargnani will be gone. Phil will basically get to build a team from scratch. That's when you can really judge him in this new role.

Like honestly, do you think the premier free agents in the league are going to want to be coached by a second year guy?
For whatever reason New York didn't care enough about Fisher to get him the top assistants in the game like GS did for Kerr...pretty easy to be a coach when you got Gentry the Genius running your offense...
Honestly with the new TV deal and the cap being pushed so high cap space is borderline irrelevant because damn near every team outside of the clippers and warriors will have a ton of it next year

Fisher is a bad coach...obviously it is his first year and what rookie coach isn't...but no matter what Phil did this year...no matter who he got to play in New York...Fisher was not going to coach them up...
