Phil Jackson was hired by the Knicks on March 18, 2014.
The Knicks had 15 games remaining that season and wound up finishing 37-45.

A week after the season, head coach Mike Woodson was fired.

Since then with Phil Jackson as President, New York has gone a collective 75-156 including today's loss to the Brooklyn Nets (.325 winning percentage)
This guy is a complete disaster.

And the hopes that Kristaps Porzingis becomes an elite player in 3 years, or that WillyHernangomez becomes some sort of Steven Adams-lite does not boost things in his favor.

Carmelo's shortcomings are well-documented but this mess is Phil Jackson's.
No one else's.

The Knicks were 13 games under .500 when they hired Phil, yet had no draft pick in that year's draft.

Matter of fact, Phil inherited a team that had no draft picks in 2 of their next 3 drafts due to those disasterous Carmelo and Bargnani trades.

Yet he still manages to come away with Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, and a top 5(?) pick in this year's draft. And some solid undrafted rookies like Ron Baker and Kuzminskas.

Sure his record doesn't look good but the Knicks' future looks much better off now than when they hired him.

The future looked better when Donnie Walsh left too.

That's not good enough.
Phil can't be judged on what this team might do in 2019.

This team is terrible, plays awful defense and he's responsible.

The Knicks future was fukked the second they made that Melo trade.

That trade guaranteed years of mediocrity. Phil made the right decision to bottom out and look to the draft instead of setting for being a mediocre treadmill team. And unlike Hinkie, Phil has drafted well with his extremely limited assets.

The next step is to find a way to get rid of Melo.

Melo isn't the problem holding this team back.

Not being able to find a decent PG since old ass Jason Kidd, and not playing defense, and hiring a coach who was known in Phoenix for not giving a shyt about defense is the problem.

And while you may point to Derrick Rose as a good PG, he's a shell of what he once was, he's never been a great defender nor a great court-general that facilitates the game for other players.

This media agenda to trash Melo is just a convenient scapegoat.

The nikka talking about running the Triangle still shows he doesn't know shyt about the modern league

That overrated offense worked because he had stars that regularly said fukk it and did they own thing. Old ass clown needs to sit down.
phil jackson is a perfect example how far diplomacy can make you go in life. His career was based off running tex winter schemes and playing the greatest talent of all time. All he had to do was be diplomatic with his star players, thats all.

Coaches like popovich can easily adapt to any era. Phil is still thinking about that same ol formula
