i see yall dont get it. usually these type of conversations would have MS trying to sell everyone on this super elite machine. then when the price comes out in a year and its way way up there $600, $700. etc. then all the casuals, and all the low budget gamers, parents that buy their kids consoles will lose their minds. "i aint paying that much for that...thats too expensive."
Phil this time is not lying to you like they normally do. he's keep it a Buck 50. This machine is for those select few gamers that need that ELITE level gaming/graphics, etc. Those guys are the same guys that would toss up 2 grand+ for a suped up PC with a ridiculous graphic card. Or the grown up that loves to game and has disposable income where he probably already owns a 4k TV when in reality their isnt much content in 4k since your cable TV channels are not in 4k yet.
This is no longer a console war folks. Phil is aiming at people that have the money to blow and he's actually side aiming at PC gamers who invest a lot of doe into their rigs. If you dont fit either one of these categories. Scorpion will not be for you. dont get made. be glad he told you the truth. Go get the Slim. or stick to the original. your choice. or stick with your playstation or get the playstation 4.5.
scorpion is not the next gen thats supposed to go toe to toe with sony. they are going toe to toe with the PC master race.

is 1080 p at 60 fps really that important? to some ...YES. to others like myself NOPE.
these games look darn good already at 700 to 900p and 30 fps. lets keep it a billy. we know these games look darn good. but they look even better and play slightly better(shooter games) 1080p 60fps.
but is it necessary? NOPE. will less than 1080 ruin my day? NOPE. will less than 60 fps ruin my day? NOPE. will it ruin your day? some of you the answer is yes.
so in that same situation the 4k is necessary to people who want the best of the best visuals hands down. do i need it? NOPE. but if my pockets are right will i have both a 4k tv and this scorpion? YEP.
And the sales show that your friends are an absolute minority. That's fact.
i told yall when the war was going on early on. i smelled something fishy and it was getting spooky around these parts. all of a sudden console gamers sounding like PC gamers talking about frame rate and 1080p. i'm like wait a second. yall know nothing of the sort. so why are yall ALL OF A SUDDEN screaming about this. this is something you hear from PCers.
and back to your point Rekk... like someone said he left it open. every game does not have to render at 1080 60fps. if you have that much cpu/gpu/ram power all packed into that box. you can CHOOSE as a dev to go with a solid looking game which still hits 30fps solidly. But the game mechanics are out of this world. meaning AI is on point where you think you're playing vs real people. not that usual dumb Ai you can figure out in a few game plays.
for example. lets talk sports games. specifically 2k. what if the AI when using a high Offensive IQ player knows the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent they play. so as to know exactly what will get him off balance and make it harder for him to defend the AI. it doesnt do that now for the most part because the AI can't be that smart while everything else is going on in the game. with this new box they have more power to do things like that. let alone the NPC's in other types of games being much more realistic
1080p/60fps is more logical and more realistic of a benchmark to hit than 4K at a decent framerate. Especially since more people will reap the benefits of it because everybody has a standard HDTV by now.
And looking at how things are going for this generation and especially shooters, anything less than 60fps isn't going to cut it. The last big shooter that dropped that wasn't 60fps was Destiny and that came out 2 years go in September.

I wouldn't call a 399 console that's capable of a standard 1080p/60fps with built in HDR and streaming capabilities a scam. They oversold it in the original PS4, but like I said, some games are hitting those marks, just not everything. That would change with NEO.
