A lot of people who buy these drinks (kids/teens) love em so much that they aren't as price sensitive as other consumers, hence why this tax is only good for the people in power in Philly because they are gonna hit the bank

But anyway, I don't drink them like that (occasional cream soda, root beer, or Dr. Pepper) so it wouldn't affect me if I lived there but I'm also not foolish enough to believe that this will curb obesity, especially when the lack of physical activity is the major culprit. (yall need to read up on the link between obesity and technology) And we will see how much of this really goes towards education and the community.

Word. I thought soda drinkers has been on the decline. When i was a kid we would drink soda like the shyt was gonna rot. Nobody in my fam was obese.

Yeah exactly, I think it's the huge portions/processed food that's making people fat

Plus the fact that a lot of kids don't play outside these days

Soda keeps me from actually eating, which combined with my workout regimen keeps my weight down.
