A neighborhood doesn't have to be expensive to be but let's also be realistic more times than not price is usually a sign of good stuff as far as neighborhoods. Hell if you want that just move to the Atl or places with a high black population you can find that. Gentrification usually happens because of opportunity. People's parents/grandparents buy the home pass it down and the kids don't take as good or care of the home, don't pay the property taxes, etc that makes it easy for someone to get a deal. You then have this happening a few more times then bam you got gentrification. I think most people like you only have a problem because it's white folks if it was mainly blacks doing the exact same thing would you really complain?

I agree loser socioeconomic people will steal and the like regardless of race but that's life and unfortunately not changing anytime soon. As long as you ageee about the more action less talk the other issue can usually ime be worked out.

The thing is, I don’t think black people would buy out a neighborhood, displace poor black residents and set up shop. Blacks as a whole normally care about people (which can be our downfall), whites only look at the investment.

I’m on my phone so I can’t say everything I want, but there are layers to improving the black community. Every time I feel I have a solution I could try on my own, I realize there was something I didn’t consider. It’s a huge problem.

I agree with you, but that doesn’t change the fact the violence is there. Foreign store owners aren’t going to give our people the opportunities they deserve, not before their own. Just not gonna happen.

Agreed. For me the issue is -- we can't give our people any opps -- as we don't have the loans or support system foreigners have -- financially or physically (working for free - until profit).

My neighbors back home own two Starbucks and grocery stores -- they are Chaldean - all their children work at their stores and they hire other Chaldeans or White people... they do hire Black people - but the children of their Black "friends" they know. I say all that to say - the Starbucks are owned by the two youngest boys - and their dad put up the money and credit to help them get the two locations. What Black people you know can do that -- hence not bringing in opps.

Well my friend you may be naive then. I have people in Philly that do this and that's what happens. It's not on the level as whites but the truth is folks that are doing this are doing so for profit. If blacks cop cool and if a non black cops cool too. That's just what it is and if you did this you'd most likely become just like them in that aspect too. People end up going to another neighborhood and over time like I've said before that neighborhood becomes the new neighborhood for lower socioeconomic folks just like it was the opposite a few generations ago. It is a cycle that we may see again before we start to leave this planet.

I understand being on the phone and it getting everything out. I'm on mine also and face to face usually works better for these types of more detailed discussions. I think we agree for the most part with some disagreement here and there

In Atlanta they have bullet-proof restaurant drive-thrus in some Black areas. It's out of control and it all needs to be regulated.

seriously - it’s not OK. People buying a order of hush puppies shouldn’t have to slide money under a clip then wait for the to rotate their box to get the order.

It’s not that deep. If other restaurants on that same street can not do that — they can as well.

It’s bias and we need to call this out. I don’t think we should be treated like animals to buy a two piece and some fries.
