He's actually better at center than he is at power forward. He just isn't athletic and doesn't block shots. I like his game and thinks he can improve his scoring with us.

This is a respectably mediocre roster.
Considering the other names in FA...
I can't see this being anything but a loss for Phil though. I mean..an LMA or Gasol could seriously transform this team. Unless we expect Monroe to put up 19... I don't know. Also, Calderon is not starting. I'd continue to throw Galloway into the fire(especially since he & Timmy are the reasons why we don't have Towns) and have him start,
Galloway, Afflalo, Melo, West, Monroe
Grant, Shved, Early/Thanasis, Porzingis, Aldrich
I'm hoping we sign someone like Aminu though & implement him somewhere efficient in the lineup.

There are about 5-6 FA guards i'd take before Affalo... but at the right price I'd absolutely take him if none of the other FA guards are available.

He's washed, expecting him to defend the best perimeter players in the league right now would be joke status.

Dudde put up 18 ppg two years ago and consistently shoots over 40% from three and plays good defense on good teams.. he's what we wanted JR to be

Not really a big fan of west fellas, id rather see us put Melo at the 4 if thats the case
I'm not completely against those moves because - 1) we need players to fill out the roster, 2) the objective next year is to make the playoffs because we haven't been there in a couple years & we don't own next year's pick.
but locking all of them up for more than a year is dangerous. relying on calderon to last the entire season, and not getting PG depth is not acceptable tho. we gotta try to pick somebody up at that position.

we just need to sign a nice core of players that can make us playoffs this year and will contribute for the future. then we can start to shooting for top tier guys in future off season. signing lamarcus would be cool this offseason but we'd be building from the ceiling down
