Larkin best case scenario is a better JJ Barea...Really no need to pick up his option when we don't quite know what we have with him, and with Shump let him play out the season and see what the market is looking like for him this off-season.

One thing we forget about Shump is last season was his 1st full season, he still Younging
His option was only 1.9 mil. He doesn't pan out, we're short a couple million. It does work out, we got him for cheap...

Now we'll probably end up losing him in free agency for nothing.

Seemed more reward than risk imo

I agree with you, im assuming Phil wanted as much cap flexibility as possible going into free-agency next summer

look at the box score.

melo played 34 minutes and bron still played 43.

kyrie played played 43

love played 38 and waiters played 37.

meanwhile the knicks didn't play ANYONE on their roster besides melo more than 30 minutes. so I assume they were all fresh. david blatt gonna wear his team out playing the big three so many minutes.

Knicks weren't fresh. They had played the night before. According to Derek, if so many key Knicks weren't in (bogus) foul trouble, they would have played more minutes (click here and go to the 30 second mark of the video). Cavs were fresh. Lj and Love had no excuse for playing like trash. They had no foul trouble to mess up their rhythm and it was their first game.

its funny you say that because before the game, shaq was talking about how theirs modifications for the triangle, meaning if u fail to find the guy in the triangle, u go to ur go to guy. shaq was postup, kobe was iso, mj was iso.
That's what I didn't get with the Barkley and Reggie hate it was like they didn't want to use common sense about what the Knicks were doing . they look really unprofessional out there

GREENBURGH, N.Y. –- There might’ve been times during the Cleveland game when it appeared that Carmelo Anthony or J.R. Smith would shoot or score off sets or early offense that did not look to resemble anything close to the triangle.

TNT analysts Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley also made occasional remarks noting when they thought the Knicks took a shot out of something that was not the triangle.

Jesse D. Garrabran/Getty ImagesKnicks coach Derek Fisher is happy to point out the benefits of the triangle's mysteries.
Knicks coach Derek Fisher was asked if his team played some non-triangle sets in the win over Cleveland or if he had simplified the offense a bit following the season-opening loss to Chicago.

“Well, no, I think it is hard for folks that haven’t played in this before to recognize when it is and when it isn’t,” Fisher explained. “So there are tons of things that we can do before and after that start in a triangle, end in a triangle, maybe there is no triangle.

“That is for us to know and everybody else to find out,” Fisher added with a chuckle.

Certainly, not every set is going to look like the triangle and have three players on one side of the court moving the ball. Fisher and team president Phil Jackson have said that they want the Knicks to push the ball when the opportunity presents itself and get some transition baskets and maybe into some early-offense situations.

And there will surely be times when Anthony is isolated on a defender to take advantage of a matchup or to try to score when the shot clock may be winding down.

“Yeah, we’ve tried to help our guys understand that the triangle is not this place that we exist in as soon as we touch the basketball,” Fisher said. “When we play solid defense, get rebounds and get steals, we want to run the floor and take advantage of things that we can early and then we settle into our offensive format after that.

“But there are ways that we get in and out of it that just gives a defense a different look,” Fisher added. “And it obviously gives the broadcasters a different look so I guess it is working well so far.”

Old Brooklyn, word to @DPresidential
I wish Fish started Cole World instead of Dalembert. Gotta feeling Al is gonna roast him. Not to mention Cole is better on the boards and we're gonna need it against CHA.

Hope Wear gets some time tonight too. He didnt really put up any numbers last game, but he was active and did a good job guarding Bron when he was on him.
