He dodged every single Black world title contender, so his resume is tainted. Still a legend though, first Boxing superstar of the 20th Century

He notoriously ducked Sam Langford, and many others

Harry Willis especially got screwed over during Dempsey’s reign.

Langford also got screwed out of his deserved title shot during Jack Johnson’s reign.

Things got better by the 50s, but so many black contenders got fukked out of their deserved shots.

Naw, no reason to hate on Rocky. He fought in an era where there weren't a lot of upcoming great heavies. Charles, Walcott, and Moore were still excellent fighters when Rock fought them. He was able to dig deep and come out on top when a lot of other fighters would've lost

I give a lot of credit to guys like Marciano, Rahman, Liston, Qawi, etc…who pick up boxing at such a late age and still reach the highest level of the sport. They all must have a real feel for the sport to begin in their 20s and become world champions.
