where they cross-over and clap boards
I can't remember the last time I played on an outdoor court, but you can catch me 3 times a week on an indoor court. I remember years back getting shin splints from going back and forth between the black top and hardwood :sadcam:

I don't even hoop and I know this is bullshyt. As long as its not hot as fukk, the courts usually got a game goin on. And even if they don't, there's games goin on at LA or the Y or wherever. Motherfukkers at ESPN are the goddamn worst. Bristol needs to :camby:

At the top.
Pick up games going on at the local gym all the time so ..I wouldn't really say its dying
The one thing that is dying is quality stories from ESPN, from cupcakes to pick up games you can tell they ain't got shyt to do over there.

In my area, this is definitely the case.

Anybody ever get the vibe that more youngsters just don't find sports "cool" anymore?

That shyt was at the peak when And1 was around, and wearing jerseys and fashion were hand-in-hand. More women used to show up to watch at the parks because that was the "in" thing, which made more cats want to ball. Now that it's not as popular, not as many women show up, which means not as many people show up as a whole. Could just be a shallow Los Angeles thing though. Also, most cats from that era, are older with families now as well.

Now I'm from the school of doing something that you want to do is >

But I just feel with the advance of the internet and being connected to more people, some young bucks don't hoop as much anymore because there's more of a general consensus that there's better stuff to do. There have always been cats like that, but with everybody connected, it just seems more prominent.

Complete theory crafting on my part.

I still hoop 3-4 times a week but it's at my 24 hr fitness gym. Most nikkas I know hoop indoors, especially in the Texas summer. But even in the Winter the outdoor courts are empty. Sad, kids these days are getting mind fukked by the internet/technology at their disposal.
When I moved to Dallas that was one of the first things I noticed. Nobody hoops outside here. I understand in the summer cause its hot as shyt, but after that its good ass hoopin weather til damn near November/December. My boy told me nobody plays outside anymore, everybody's in the gyms.

I don't know where ya'll from, but every court I pass by, cats are out there balling. Hell when I pass by Dyckman, kids still be out there balling past 11pm with no lights on

Dogg... that's DYCKMAN, courts like that will have run from dawn to AFTER dark. I actually tend to agree, it's harder and harder for kids to find a pickup game to play. NYC is a basketball graveyard, empty courts all over.

:mjlol: @ playing basketball outdoors. Why play outside when there is perfectly good gyms with good goals inside?

The biggest reason is kids have people in their ears telling them not to play outside because of their knees. That was the most common reason it seemed at least for the college kids.

the real answer is aau basketball
