He gets a little underrated IMO but really hard to argue he's anywhere near top 5. (Chronological) Baylor/Erving/Bird/Bron/KD 100% above him and I'd definitely rank Hondo/Barry/Pippen/Kawhi above him too, but 10 isn't an unreasonable spot for him IMO but it's crowded AF with guys like Dantley/English/Wilkins/Melo/etc. Also up there, he's with those guys, Tmac as well if you consider him a SF

Much deserved 1st ballot though, just had the misfortune of playing against so many other great wings/forwards during his prime

Na man I’m sick of hearing this nonsense from nikkas who never watched a Celtics game pre big 3.

Those early & mid 00s Celtics teams were bad because of terrible rosters, not Paul Pierce.
nikka change your tampon and shut the fukk up crying about this shyt. Paul Pierce is not as beloved as you’d like to believe and you’re just gonna have to deal with that fact fakkit :pacspit:

Melo >> Pierce :umad:

In 2016 Kawhi finished #2 in MVP voting. He's consistently been a solid top-10 player every year since then except for the one he missed with injury. That's 5 seasons and counting.

Paul Pierce doesn't have a strong case for top-10 in any season. He has a few years where you could make a borderline case, but it's hard to say he was ever even a top-5 forward at any point. Mostly he was a very solid player in the top 15 range with a good mentality who brought it when it mattered.

Man get this clown the fukk outta this thread. “Very solid player”.. He’s officially a first ballot hall of famer, you fool. Kawhi has played on better teams, of course he gets more recognition. Kawhi Leonard isn’t even 30 yet and he’s played on more stacked teams than Pierce has ever had. All nba awards, mvp votes, you rarely get these accolades playing on bad team. It’s not Pierce’s fault Kawhi has played with great teammates every year of his career.

Paul Pierce was 30 when he teamed up with KG and Ray. Kawhi is currently 29. You gotta be kidding me talking about mvp votes and all nba teams when one player has played with way better teammates. Garbage posting.

Pierce isn't borderline Top 5, there's no way you think he's a historical peer to Erving...

Also, I think we do know how good Scottie Pippen was. We had a small sample size of him as a #1, he was good enough to to take a team a game within the ECF, so I think if there was more time as a #1, you can say he coulda been the best player on a Final Four team...

Pierce was the best player on a Final Four team...

Also with Scottie, he was probably best suited as a career #2, the role he played in Chicago, then he went to Houston and was the third best player on the team, despite being younger than both Barkley and Olajuwon. So I think its fair to say Pippen had a ceiling, there are clearly guys who you could put around him who were better than him, he was always more suited to a role where he wasnt the best player...

Scottie and Pierce are similar, I'm not as high on Scottie as other people. Scottie isn't a Top 5 three either, he's basically the black Havlicek, except Havlicek distinguishes himself from Pippen with performances in The Finals that Pippen never matched, and Pippen played in six fukking Finals so the opportunity was there to show another level of greatness...

So Pippen has a ceiling, we know how good Pippen was. He's the black Hondo, mostly everything Hondo was but lesser on the bigger stage. Pierce and Pippen are virtually equal, Pip coulda had Truth's career if he was in Truth's situation and both were always more suited to be in that #2 role...

You didn’t see Hondo or Pippen play so how are you calling somebody the black Hondo? You don’t know Hondo’s game.. Where does he like to operate on the floor? Was he clutch? How was his handle? Who would you compare his skill set to? Did he have a post game? Again, you sound stupid as fukk.

Bruh why do act so gay about Paul Pierce? You not even really a Celtics fan because if you were you wouldn't be in here shytting on Havlicek, he's more of an icon in C's lore than Pierce and that isn't even debatable...

You just a Pierce stan which is cool but other people can have different opinions without you going postal over dude...

You didn't see Hondo play either but somehow you're convinced Pierce was better than him...:mjlol:Get off your high horse...

My Pip/Hondo comp is based on them being virtually the same guy, playmaking forwards who could play lockdown defense. Hondo was the Celtics #2 guy for a few years before asserting himself in '69, and taking over the full leadership of the team when Russell retired; Pippen was Chicago's second best player for a few years then became the #1 when Mike retired...

Hondo is better than Pip for reasons I already mentioned as well as the fact he had a scoring gear Pip couldn't ramp up to. One of the great duels in Finals history is West vs Havlicek in '69, but Hondo has several icon moments in the postseason...

Really though, all the info about Havlicek's career is out here for you if you want it, you know how to use Google and YouTube. You're being combative because I said Hondo is better than Pierce. Thats a personal problem, you have issues, my guy...

Im not reading this shyt dawg. Stop trying to compare & describe players you didn’t see play. You admittedly said you started watching basketball in the 00s, you sound stupid as fukk trying to break down Hondo, Pipp and other players you didn’t even watch play. Sit your dumb ass down.

LA fags mad as fucc :russ:

one of the most underrated players ever. Fucc you fakkits. :blessed:

Bro it’s insane you have dudes knocking Pierce in favor of other small forwards because said players have played with better players thus receiving more team success awards.

You put 27YO Paul Pierce on the 2018 Raptors and he’s beating an unhealthy GS team too.
