When Bill Davidson died Joe's hands became tied because Davidson's wife was trying to find a buyer of the Pistons. Joe was a shyt GM when it came to drafting players. The Pistons could have pulled either Wade or Melo at the time and he drafts an unknown 7 footer. The Billups/A.I. trade pissed me off because I still thought the Pistons could had made one last push to get to the Finals. The problems with the Pistons at that time was simply coaching. When Larry Brown left the bottom start to fall apart with Flip as coach because he thought putting emphasis on offense over defense was gone work out East and every year the Pistons was getting booted out of the ECF.

Darko was the consensus #2 pick in that draft so everybody said. After dirk 7 foot euros was the new hotness. Larry brown didn't do him any favors.

Pistons run was over after Ben Wallace left. Flip Saunders wasn't getting them back to the finals.

I just don't get why he is available in the first place...cause he is having a bad year? He is 23...23 year old players have bad years...

You want to revisit next year and he still playing like this then it becomes more viable...but pulling the plug on 23 year old centers cause they had a bad first half of a season? That strikes me as outlandish...

Isn't this the first year of his new contract to? You extend a guy to 20+ million a year and then before the first year is up you try to see what you can get for him?

You see what you can get now because his value is still high
Lets say he never gets better or worse gets injuried and never recovers
His peak would have been his one all star game year
