There are legitimate questions about whether he can stay at C defensively.
The Yankees have seen a lot of players start their careers on fire only to flame out for a variety of reasons.

Joba, Ledee, Hughes, Spencer, etc...

Forgive me if this is an ignorant statement but if he don't pan out at C you could always throw him at 1B right? Tex just retired didn't he?

Well, sure.
He'd have to learn 1B. It's not a position that you just plug people who can't field...no matter what people think.
There's also the trouble that you've already got a potential logjam at 1B to begin with.

Greg Bird and Tyler Austin could see time there. And the Yankees signed Chris Carter too.
Gary Sanchez will essentially get the Jorge Posada treatment. If he hits, he can stay at C. Sanchez might not be AWFUL at catching...Posada wasn't awful at it either. But neither are (or were) very good.

He's starting this season in Double A so he's not that far away.

He'll put himself in position to come up in 2018 if he has a good season.
The Yankees are notoriously slow with prospects.
He would have to crush it at AA this year and even then he won't go straight to MLB (which sometimes does happen).

Most likely scenario is this:
Barring an injury at the SS position, and assuming that Gleyber rocks it at AA, he gets promoted to AAA to finish the 2017 season.
Gets an invite to Spring Training 2018.
Gets sent back down to start the 2018 season in the minors (assuming this affects his Super Two status).
If he crushes it in the Minors and the ML shortstop position looks terrible, you'd see Torres in the Bronx in the middle of May or early June of 2018.

Torres isn't the prospect that Corey Seager was, and it took Seager a while to get called up in LA.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS NY DIVISION
I ain't gonna lie that shyt was a fluke but fukk it I'll take a decent Porcello as my #3 especially when his ceiling is borderline Cy Young production.

David price is spotty in the playoffs..

It might be a good thing that he isnt gonna be looked at as the top ace
