Pitchers can celebrate after a big strikeout, but batters have to act like they're in a library?

Wtf is this shyt? We see it all the time. Pitcher gets a big strikeout to kill a potential big inning, and he goes nuts fist pumping, yelling and hopping like a hot potato, but if a hitter hits a monster homerun, hes supposed to just keep his head down and meekly trot the bases? There is nothing bigger in baseball than the homerun, and you're supposed to just act like you struck out with game 7 on the line? Why is this even acceptable?

The pitcher doesn't have to hit in the AL and he knows it.

Now I've seen players celebrate while running. That's not a problem. Showing someone up is violating code to the players.

The decorum in baseball is too anal. The WBC was all about players just showing out. They couldn't do that shot during the season because they'd get drilled. It's stupid, but America is too tight to budge

shyt is old and outdated. Especially considering things players have done like spiking, barreling into people, etc. If you as a player don't like being shown up, stop the opposing player from doing his thing. I'm just saying, pitchers have no right to complain about being shown up when they are the most excessive celebrators on the field.

Well the media used to get on Joba for wilding after he would strike someone out to end the inning.

Baseball is full of sensitive people anyway. "Oh you hit a homerun off me your last at-bat? *throws at 94mph pitch at your head* unwritten rules boi :birdman:"

That's rarely how it goes down. No one really cares if you hit a HR off of them enough to drill you ... it's more how you react after hitting the HR.

I've seen it happen in HS and College level and a couple times in MLB. Some pitchers are bytchmade :yeshrug:

Yeah.

Truth is that players are much more sensitive since you'll have everyone be like "oh you gonna let him son you like that b"

It's much easier to be salty and embarrassed when millions of people will see you fukk up

baseball's "manner" rules are outdated.. but pitchers celebrating isn't really allowed.. it's still kinda frowned upon. it's just that pitchers know that they're in the position of power. al pitchers.. relief pitchers.. they're not gonna step in that batter's box.

hitters should be able to celebrate their homeruns however the fukk they want. it doesn't happen often. bust out the dave chappelle and 1 baseball moves. :stylin:

pitchers should be able to celebrate big outs too. but they're successful 80% of the time.. don't go overboard :jawalrus:

Never said he shouldn't. Now ... if you hit one off of me, flip your bat and walk to first ... I'm throwing up and in when you're up next.
But why? Nobody stops you from fist pumping and yelling when you get that big strikeout. Why retaliate because things didn't go your way and the batter is loving his moment?

It doesn't happen that often. The celebrations for a big RBI and a big strikeout aren't that different.

And if you have to ask why people retaliate after suffering a bruised ego, then you have never had one.
