I actually do.. doesnt mean every artist can do it.

Just like y'all hate when peeps like Mclemore come in hip hop and steal the culture. Kanye sounds like he stealing their culture. You feel me?
1. I've been called a Macklemore Stan several times on here breh, and no I do not care about stealing culture whatever. Specially if the dude knows the culture and knows how to rap.

2. According to all media, probably most rappers Kanye is the one who does it the best. It's art though, certain people enjoy graffiti more than Van Gogh. Everyone will not agree. Specially when you are making very anti-conservative hiphop.

3. How is Kanye "stealing" shyt cacs "stole" in first place? And there's only influences of other genres like electro, soul, RnB, disco and all their spinoffs all of which are "our" genres.

Good for Kanye. He's very creative and bold artist who's not afraid of taking chances and pushing the envelop constantly. On the top of all that he still manage to make a cohesive and amazing albums. He keeps outdoing himself.

By the way, it's Kanye we talking about. He's not old-school, dead or underground rapper. He's easiest target for the media and fans. Motherfukka like Ye is supposed to be shytted on. Stop making excuses bytches for the good reviews.

SINY!!
Not surprised. They're all scared to be the honest one.

They don't want that backlash. That's why media is corny. There's no real voice there. They're all scared to ruffle the feathers of the masses, for fear that their "credibility" will be shaken.

It's not only about credibility.....in many cases "access" is just as important if not more. If these publications and/or websites shyt on artists....then they lose access to them which in turn hurts them when it comes to content.

I've always wondered how long music critics take to sit and write descriptions like this:

"the track sounds less triumphant than breathtakingly vexed, starting with a gnarled dancehall vocal sample and paranoid sawtooth synths that aim to destroy."

"The song is pierced by a series of primal screams, pixelated outbursts that are only briefly able to halt the beat's heaving evil."

That doesn't really apply in Kanye's case. Ye does one interview every 2 years now.

The ones who give it 2/5, are conservative in their taste for hiphop and the ones giving it 5/5 are very open-minded in regards to not only rap but music and have a deep knowledge in both. They understand that this album sounds more like an album from the 80s, the understand (and appreciate of course) minimalism, the emotion and scenery Kanye is delivering, the balls of doing something else (just like Waka Flocka Flame, Nas, Big, Jeezy, Slick Rick) which in most cases will lead to a great album.

:beli:

Why is the first thing that comes to mind when someone doesn't like some shyt is that they have "nikka ears". If I as a hip hop head can enjoy daft punk, or a little dragon or other alternative acts I should have no problem hearing kayne's album for what it is.
