yeah, fvck these reviews
What you nikkas don't understand is that duke's LOWEST review is 4/5, HIGHEST 5/5.
So why the fukk are pitchfork wrong for giving it 4.75? When it's known that they fukks with Kanye.
I give it 4.5/5 after about 10 listens, it's classic music, but would be a 5/5 if he only focused a bit more on the lyrics on certain joints.
Anyways I understand why someone will give this 2/5 and the ones who give it close to 5/5.
The ones who give it 2/5, are conservative in their taste for hiphop and the ones giving it 5/5 are very open-minded in regards to not only rap but music and have a deep knowledge in both. They understand that this album sounds more like an album from the 80s, the understand (and appreciate of course) minimalism, the emotion and scenery Kanye is delivering, the balls of doing something else (just like Waka Flocka Flame, Nas, Big, Jeezy, Slick Rick) which in most cases will lead to a great album.
classic dumb intellectual reasoning. so if you dont like kanye you arent openminded? i hate this statement, its makes people who dont fux with yeezy look like some teapartiers. kanye cant rap. if being progressive means accepting a weak mc, fx it. also, kanyes worldview is horrible. he hates women, is hypocritical. the only good thing on this album is the music, but kanye aint a good enough mc to make it come together. i like 3 or 4 songs, it aint a total bust. but damn. i never seen dikkriding like this.
I'm just basing this of the coli, I can guess that people who hate on this album are cats that fukk with conservative shyt. And people who like it are generally people that fukk with a broader range of hiphop.
I'm not saying it is, but going by the posters I recognize I would say that my hypothesis is justified.
That doesn't really apply in Kanye's case. Ye does one interview every 2 years now.
Pitchfork is cool as long as their not talking about mainstream Hip Hop. Those writers love indie/alternative/experimental shyt. I go to them when I want black keys album review, but not a review about a Hip Hop album.
That said, album's an 8![]()
It's an amateur attempt yet, the professionals think that it's extremely good. And mbdtf was not only his first 10.0 album but also his first 5 mic album.your hypothesis is sh1tified..
Kanye always been different ....
His music has never sounded like par for the course hip hop except for maybe cruel summer....
His view was always different ...All that goes back to how he came up.
He has never been in line for god Mc but his lyrics here are unbearable. ...
I actually like daft punk but if you listen to their catalog this is definitely something of their weaker work.
Good music is good music... I use to live stronger ....A little different but it was great IMHO.
If you find this album mediocre or underwhelming its because it is....more of the same over produced mess from Kanye that almost ruined mdtbf.
I'm not sitting around waiting to here another preemo break beat track either ..different approaches to the genre is fine. .but this??? this is an amateur attempt at what he thinks something should sound like and it shows.
He's a mainstream artist, and that was the gist of what I was trying to convey. I don't go to pitchfork for any mainstream hip hop artist, they have an aesthetic that I dont think is fair to judge most what the genre is about or creating.would you call this album mainstream hip hop
kanye is a mainstream artist but the album is far from it IMO![]()
lol pitchfork...
you would think a site that specializes in alternative music would shyt on such a cheap interpretation of it. meh guess not
