it is amateur tho.

go listen to NIN, daft punks actual releases, TNGHT, hell even marilyn manson and you will see how pertaining to the source material kanyes antics seem childish and infantile in execution and nature. I mean you got nikkas calling him a genius for everything. bound is a cool track but anyone on here can recreate that shyt in a under an hour. but its kanye so its a soul classic and shows he still got it. I really hope I reach a point one day where people can except any old thing I shyt out and call it an epiphany

They understand that this album sounds more like an album from the 80s, the understand (and appreciate of course) minimalism, the emotion and scenery Kanye is delivering, the balls of doing something else (just like Waka Flocka Flame, Nas, Big, Jeezy, Slick Rick) which in most cases will lead to a great album.

How does this album sound like it's from the 80s? :lupe:

outside of charlie wilson part (which is just synths tbh) all he did was pitch the sample, speed it up a bit, eq, and looped it. how does any of that spell a difficult track to reenact? of course they have million dollar mastering to put gleam on it but the basic premise and such can be replicated without too much hassle. You are a stan of the highest order if you can't see that.

Kanye is such a genius right now tho. take four nikkas to loop a sample :ahh: he found it tho so hes the genius :ahh:

It's an amateur attempt yet, the professionals think that it's extremely good. And mbdtf was not only his first 10.0 album but also his first 5 mic album.

Lol at amateur, there is negative criticism and there is hate.
You are hating calling one of the illest producers in hiphop work amateur work.

I know plenty Kanye Stans who don't fukk with this album, their reasons is that they don't like hardcore styled production, they can't understand the music etc. you nikkas are acting like you understand it but that its amateurish, lazy etc. and everyone who likes it is a cac, stupid etc fukk outta here.

except he hardly produced any of it clown.

It is amateur...

its not hate....

daft punk can do 20 times better, if you go and look at their albums you will see what i mean.

how is it hate??? lol kanye always gonna be my niqqa....this album is trash, why cant you except that people dont like it.

Im not saying there is nothiong about the album too like.... but its his worst album by far.

Almost all the songs would be filler songs on a descent album.

this album is for people who have no identity in themselves and have to be told what to do, sheep.....just like all the clowns who buy beat headphones thinking they getting a deal when them sh1ts aint even worth 75 bucks if you knew anything, just like apple heads paying 2500 dollars for a laptop thats worth 700...

I have no patience for idiots.

New slaves could have been more powerful than it was, the first half outshines the second half....

there is only 10 songs on the album....i like 3....

he tryiong to make thriller...excpet thriller was fire, this is ok at best...

the most annoying part of all the people who champion this is that we should expand our musical taste.... but what about the pople who actually do expand their musical aste and know what good music sounds like???

yeah... thought so.

Listen to some Afrika Bambaataa, some Krs, some N.W.A., Beastie Boys, RUN-DMC.. The beat switches, the minimalism, the dirty mixing, the layers of the different sound being cut clean as fukk, the experimenting and on.. A lot of 80s inspiration album on this album, it doesn't sound like it's from the 80s (more like the 80s, than the modern music was the full sentence but I was too lazy on the iPad).

Somebody said in the main thread that a lot of these reviewers and journalists will get black balled if any of them come out and trash an album this big.

Knowing the way the media in general works, it sounds plausible.

:dwillhuh:

you don't get "blackballed", from writing reviews..

where do yall come up with this shyt at..? :laff:

I'm not feeling what you are saying, you are just saying hateful shyt.

Just from this post, hate is:

1. The contradiction in "This is trash ---> this is okey at best."
2. He's trying to make thriller.
3. He sounds like an amateur.
4. This album is for people who have no identity in themselves.
5. Daft Punk can do 20 times better (I didn't know they produced hiphop songs before, besides a remix of their own song).
6. People who like the music are idiots, yet you demand people to respect that you hate the album.

I mean this whole post is absolutely shyt, worthless, not anything said is worth more than 0/10 on the pitchfork scale.

As explained I respect everyones opinion, I don't respect reasoning. Big ass difference. I don't respect anyone calling Kanye's work amateurish. And me generalizing people into different categories is solely based on posters I know on The Coli. As far as calling out hate, there's a difference between saying I don't like this type of music, music with non-superb lyrics, too many mashed up sounds or whatever the fukk. Saying shyt like this is trash, anyone who likes is stupid and it's sounds amateurish same with (the generally considered classic) MBDTF.

This is exactly what I mean by reasoning, "recreate" what the fukk is that?

I can recreate e=mc^2 as well, doesn't mean that I can fukking invent it.

And I don't know why you keep comparing it to TNGHT, Daft Punk or now even Marilyn Manson. I thought we were talking about hiphop here. There is not comparison, unless you have hiphop beats they've done before. Hudson Mohawke has some dope hiphop production, but nothing really classic or anything. I would say that Blood on the leaves might be his best beat, that's just me though.

Also know that I already called this Yeezys weakest album after 808s and that I don't agree with pitchforks high rating.
