"ingratiating"

"buoying"

"caustic"

I'm all for good writing . But these hipsters need to step away from the Thesaurus.

What you nikkas don't understand is that duke's LOWEST review is 4/5, HIGHEST 5/5.
So why the fukk are pitchfork wrong for giving it 4.75? When it's known that they fukks with Kanye.

I give it 4.5/5 after about 10 listens, it's classic music, but would be a 5/5 if he only focused a bit more on the lyrics on certain joints.

Anyways I understand why someone will give this 2/5 and the ones who give it close to 5/5.
The ones who give it 2/5, are conservative in their taste for hiphop and the ones giving it 5/5 are very open-minded in regards to not only rap but music and have a deep knowledge in both. They understand that this album sounds more like an album from the 80s, the understand (and appreciate of course) minimalism, the emotion and scenery Kanye is delivering, the balls of doing something else (just like Waka Flocka Flame, Nas, Big, Jeezy, Slick Rick) which in most cases will lead to a great album.

Nas could never make an album like this, pre-assumed influence/originality wise the only album he has topping is of course Illmatic which got a 10/10 from Pitchfork.

Kanye got slightly above the average with this review.

Nas life is good got slightly above average from pitchfork as well.

why the fukk are you nas stans always complaining :what:
Is it cause you always get hit with the fact that you dudes rate his shyt faaaar above the general consensus? And realize that people ain't hating, you are stanning.

I dont care what Pitchfork says..
this album is some abstract, lyrically all over the place, non cohesive, piece of shyt..

and I generally like Kanye except for the last 2yrs..

What did Lupe do?

You obviously don't like electronic music, rock etc. It's understandable that you don't like the music, since a lot of hiphop fans only like the beat if it's sampling music they like.

But let me give you my take on the different if you are referring to Lasers.
Lasers electronic sound sounds like Pitbull and Kanye's Daft Punk, Kanye's rock sound sounds more like Led Zeppelin and Lupe's like Lil Wayne's Rebirth. Kanye's pop sound like Beach House and Lupe's like Katy Perry.

Musically they can't compare. Kanye's is hard, edgy shyt I've never heard for the underground while Lupe's is soft bubblegum shyt that sounds like he wanted to sell more records than he's ever done.

Lyrically and emcee wise, it's kinda even. Lyrically Lupe obviously wins, but Kanye sounds a lot more cumfy, a lot stronger delivery for the type of beats, lupe sounds like he's reading of a paper on several verses, kanye sounds like he's just spitting from his heart and on.

And you shouldn't' care what Pitchfork says, that's the only problem here you are in here mad as fukk. Hating on both them and Kanye, which indicates that you actually care about what they are saying.

I actually do.. doesnt mean every artist can do it.

Just like y'all hate when peeps like Mclemore come in hip hop and steal the culture. Kanye sounds like he stealing their culture. You feel me?

nothing wrong with rock or electronic elements, the songs and album as a whole just arent that good. certainly not constructed on a 9.5 level. i think he's just pretty much found that eminem niche where reviewers will love him no matter what he does.

if thats a 4.5 or better album, then there literally must have been 1000 classic hip hop albums released since 1990.

Uptown, Downtown, Switzerland
and people have the nerve to cite Pitchfork reviews as a credible source for hiphop :pacspit:

but if they shyt on it in their review people would love it...same if it was that Fantano guy from youtube.
you know how it goes, people would just use whatever sort of review it was to suit their agenda.

but.......no way is it a 9.5 and i really like the album.

speaking of pitchfork...funny how they do not pay attention to or like (going by that one review of his EP) Theophilus London.
you'd think he'd be the hipster hip-hop poster boy over there as he's been mixing genres from the jump.
